Hello beloved Church!

It’s September! Can you believe it? I personally relish the changing of leaves, the crisp-ness to the air, and yes, of course, pumpkin spice EVERYTHING.

At LCC, this Fall also means some really special things for our faith community. This Fall, for the first time in over a year, we get to welcome kids, families, youth, EVERYONE back to for all the wonderful things that make LCC our church home—Church School and Con-firmation, High School Youth Group and Bible studies, pizza dinner together on Wednes-days and Coffee (and Donut) Hour on Sundays; Quilt and Bible Blessings, youth fundrais-ers and community fellowship with Grace Garden—and so much more!

All the things that make those special memories that are sacred in the ordinary of life—watching our kiddos sing in Church School, laughing together in Bible study, ringing bells and singing in choir, welcoming our littlest members into the body of Christ with thunderous applause, coming to the altar as one Christian family to receive Jesus’ body and blood and to dwell in God’s love—it’s all part of the DNA of who we are at Lutheran Church of the Cross and we get to do it this Fall TOGETHER, in person!

In addition to all these holy familiar things—this Fall, we also get to join together in some wonderful newness! Construction on the Fellowship Hall will be completed in the next two weeks and we can hardly wait to throw open the doors and share this beautiful new space as a church family!

Construction is also wrapping up on the church garage, which has been beautifully renovated into the West Fargo Eats food pantry.

On September 22nd, from 530-7pm, join us in the Cross Way Center and on the church lawn for Celebrate LCC Night—for games, yummy food, live music from the LCC Worship Band, gift basket raffles, and tours of the brand new Fellowship Hall and West Fargo Eats! We also need your help naming all the new rooms in the Fellowship Hall.

Welcome back to church, LCC family. After a year of so much change, hard decisions, distance, and see each other only through screens—being together, in-person (still with some safety precautions)—truly feels like heaven brushing Earth. We get to be together—to celebrate every milestone, to support each other through every valley, to lean on and laugh with each other, and to serve our community—it’s all part of the life long journey of living and loving like Jesus.

I’m so thankful to be a part of this faith community and faith family. I can’t wait to see what the upcoming year holds for us and our journey with Christ.

See you soon!

Christ’s peace and love

Pastor Megan

Pastor’s Message

Hello LCC Family,

As we move into the Fall and think about school and the changing of the seasons, life at LCC is still very busy. The facility renovations have made great progress and we encourage everyone to check this out when they have time. Other exciting things happening is the continued growth of the pop-up food pantry that LCC is heading. It is truly inspiring how much this is helping our community. Church school and confirmation are starting up again and we are very thankful for all the volunteers that make this great. We are seeing a lot of people back at ser-vices and look forward to seeing more!

In August, Pastor Joel, Pastor Megan, and I attended the Eastern ND Synod Assembly. This was an eye-opening experience that was quite rewarding. I was honored to represent LCC at this event.

We are still considering possible candidates for a new part time third pastor for LCC. This process continues how-ever not many candidates have come forward as of late. We will keep the congregation posted on this.

Lastly, I would like to thank our council and executive team for the hard work and time they commit to LCC. This is truly appreciated.

Welcome 6th Grade Students & Families!

We are thrilled to join you on this journey of faith formation during Confirmation.

Confirmation@LCC is a three year program where students are equipped to think criti-

cally about their faith while exploring how a life of faith empowers us to live and love

like Jesus in the world. They will learn to see themselves as a part of God's unfolding

story of love and hope--while being surrounded and supported with connection and

community through the Confirmation program. 6th Grade Families are encouraged

to join us on the first night (September 29th) to learn all about Confirmation ex-

pectations, what the year will include, and answer any questions you might

have.

Grace & Peace, Chelsi Martian
