Upcoming Writer’s Retreat Opportunity From Morgan Rothenberger

KWI VP, Morgan Rothenberger received an e-mail about a retreat opportunity for writers. Check it out and see if you’re interested.

My name is Natalie Parker and I'm an author from Lawrence, KS. I'm coordinating a writers retreat & workshop in Camdenton, MO this August 27 - 30 called, The Anatomy of Publishing: Story & Marketing and I was wondering if you'd like to share the details with the members of Kan-sas Writers, Inc.

The workshop will be lead by Courtney C. Stevens, an adjust professor at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky, and author of several young adult novels published by HarperCollins. Courtney is also the Author-in-Residence for JKS Communi-cations, a national book publicity firm, which makes her well qualified to help authors develop individualized marketing plans.

Also in attendance will be three guest authors ready to workshop first pages and query letters. They are myself, Tessa Gratton (The Blood Journals series and The United States of Asgard series), and Victo-ria Schwab (author of several young adult titles as well as Vicious and A Darker Shade of Magic).

As a Kansas writer, I'm always looking for ways to encourage and support creative communities in the midwest. I host a bi-monthly meeting for Kansas writers and teach a course on critique four times a year. Now, I've launched a small business through which I would like to offer a multitude of retreat and workshops, and The Anatomy of Publishing is my first offering.

I'm attaching the web-friendly flyer for your convenience. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them.

Cheers,

Natalie
