About Kresge Library
Kresge Physical Sciences Library provides collections and information
services that support research, teaching, and learning in astronomy &
physics, chemistry, earth sciences, environmental studies, and physical
geography.
Cook Mathematics Collection
The Cook Mathematics Collection is where you will find the majority of the
mathematics and computer science books and journals in the Dartmouth
Library. The Cook Collection is located on Berry Level 3.
Photocopying, Scanning & GreenPrint
Kresge has a color scanner with monitor where you can make high-quality
scans, and send the files to your email account at no charge. A GreenPrint
printer/scanner/copier is also available. Students receive an allocation of $20
per term of free printing, with a double-sided page costing 8.5¢. GreenPrint
printer/copiers and more scanners are also available in Berry Library.
Research Help
Subject specialist librarians are here to help you find answers, explore your
research topic, or do a comprehensive literature search. Requests for
assistance can be sent via email to any Kresge librarian or to
[email protected]. You can also just drop by librarians’ offices in
Kresge. Ask us!
Course Reserves
Kresge Library offers access to print and online materials as part of our
course reserve service. Course reserve items can be checked out for either 2,
4, or 24 hours, depending on the course. Baker Reserves handles reserves for
math and computer science courses. You can find course reserve items,
whether print or online, in the library catalog.
Group Study Room
Book Kresge’s Group Study Room for up to 3 hours at a time, in person or by
phone. You can reserve the room up to one week in advance.

Off-Campus Access to Library Resources
You can access Dartmouth’s online journals, books, and databases from
anywhere in the world using the VPN F5 Big-IP Client. For more information,
follow the “Off-Campus Access” link from the Library’s website.
DartDoc & BorrowDirect
Books and articles that are not available at Dartmouth can be requested
through the library’s DartDoc service. There is no charge for this service for
Dartmouth users. BorrowDirect is another (sometimes faster) option for
obtaining books from a regional network of cooperating university libraries.
Workshops & Guides
Workshops on a variety of research-related topics take place throughout the
year. Take advantage of opportunities to explore new databases and
information discovery tools, or to fine tune your research workflow.
Kresge’s current workshop calendar can be found on the Kresge website.
Prefer the self-guided approach? Use the “Research Guides” links on the
Kresge front page to find recommended resources in astronomy & physics,
chemistry, earth sciences, environmental studies, math, and computer
science.
Loan Periods & Circulation Policies
The loan period for books* is 120 days for students and one year for faculty.
We also lend out useful items like laptop and phone chargers, headphones,
calculators, flash drives, and more. Need something? Ask us!
You can renew most* items online via the “My Library Accounts” link, as well
as by email, by phone, or in person.
*Except course reserves.
