PERFORMANCE NOTES
GENERAL
Acciaccature: always right before the main note or the chord following them (in levare)
crescendo from-to complete silence
gradual change from one playing technique to another

Harmonics: produced opening an octave key so
as to overblow a low note to sound an octave
and a fifth higher
Without the reed, cover the aperture of
the instrument with the lips and breath
carefully to produce wind noise random

Playing techniques:
Damp the string
Harmonics: touch the appropriate node of the
given string inside the piano lightly before
touching the key (change the fundamental if
necessary in order to get the harmonic)
Chromatic cluster
Scrape the string slowly upwards and downwards
with the fingernail
Fast scrape
Rub a Brush on the tuning pins of the highest
strings
Sweep the string with a Super ball mallet
Tremolo on the strings with two soft timpani
mallets within the corresponding area
Glissando along the strings with a glass
Use two soft rubber tubes to cover the cluster
range. Sweep them upwards and downwards the
strings alternating them to keep the sound.
Hit lightly the overturned cymbal with a soft
vibraphone mallet and let it vibrate and resonate
with the pedal.
