1 Look at the plan of the shopping centre.Führen Sie mit den Schüler/innen ein „Stummes Schreib gespräch“ durch. Je drei oder vier Personen sitzen/stehen um ein DIN-A3-Plakat. In der Mitte steht der Begriff Shopping. Die Schüler/innen schreiben ihre Assoziationen zu dem Begriff auf, still und ohne miteinander zu reden (Write down all the words and phrases that come to your mind. Please don’t talk!). Nach 5–7 Minuten werden die Plakate im Klassenraum aufgehängt, die Schüler/innen gehen umher und lesen die Ergebnisse der anderen Gruppen. Diese Methode ereignet sich hervorragend zum Einstieg in ein neues Thema, da sie den Wortschatz reaktiviert, festigt und erweitert. Workbook p. 39, ex. 1

3 … Ask questions and give answers. …Lassen Sie die Schüler/innen Tabu-Karten erstellen. Dabei wird je ein Wort aus Übung 1 (z. B. butcher’s) auf eine Karte geschrieben, darunter werden zwei bis drei Wörter aufgeführt, die zur Erklärung nicht benutzt werden dürfen (z. B. meat, sausages). Nach dem Er-stellen der Karten lassen Sie die Schüler/innen in zwei Teams gegeneinander spielen. Je ein Team-Mitglied erklärt ein Wort, die anderen Team-Mitglieder müssen das Wort in ein bis zwei Minuten erraten (Lehrer/in gibt das Zeit fenster vor). Wird eines der aufgeführten Wörter benutzt, kann das Team in dieser Runde keine Punkt machen.

Spielen Sie mit den Schülern/Schülerinnen Leseroulette. Die Schüler/innen lesen den Text leise, markieren Schlüssel wörter mit Textmarker und schließen dann ihre Bücher. Die Lehrkraft bereitet zum gelesenen Text 10 Fragen vor oder stellt spontan zehn Fragen. Jede/r Schüler/in bekommt 100 Punkte und kann pro Frage maximal 20 und mindestens 10 Punkte auf die richtige Antwort setzen, je nachdem, wie viel Vertrauen er/sie in die Richtigkeit der Antwort hat. Die Fragen können, müssen aber nicht aufgeschrieben werden. In leistungs starken Gruppen müssen als Antwort ganze Sätze ins Heft geschrieben werden, in leistungs-schwächeren Gruppen reichen Wörter oder Wort-gruppen. Wenn die Antwort richtig war, bekommt der/die Schüler/in die gesetzte Punktezahl. Wenn die Antwort falsch war, wird die genannte Punktezahl abgezogen. Zum Schluss werden sämtliche Punkte zusammengezählt.

Unit 9 Food

Führen Sie mit den Schülern als Einstieg in die neue Unit ein Brainstorming durch. schreiben sie das Thema FOOD an die Tafel. Fordern Sie die Schüler/innen auf, Ihnen Wörter und Phrasen zum Thema zu nennen, notieren Sie diese an der Tafel (2–3 Minuten). Fordern Sie dann die Schüler auf, Begriffe, die zusammenge-hören, miteinander zu verbinden (Can you see any words you could connect?) und verbinden Sie die Begriffe mit Linien (2 Minuten). Lassen Sie die Schüler/innen im Anschluss paarweise Sätze zum Thema bilden, die die Begriffe an der Tafel enthalten (oder auch nicht). Die Sätze können, müssen aber nicht aufgeschrieben werden (3–4 Minuten). Danach lassen Sie die Schüler/innen in der Klasse herumgehen. Sie sollen jeder Person, der sie begegnen, die Hand schütteln und einen Satz zum Thema sagen (2 Minuten). Nachdem Übung 1 und 2 durchgeführt worden sind, können Sie die Schüler/innen noch einmal in neuen Paaren über das Thema reden lassen (2–4 Minuten).
