The 3D imaging module of Kodak dental imaging
software is a feature-rich tool that makes it easy to
review cone beam CT images and treatment plans. Laid
out in three sections based on functionality, the intuitive
software gives you the tools you need to view images
slice-by-slice in axial, coronal, sagittal, curvolinear, and
oblique views to allow better evaluation of an area of
interest. You can enhance images with brightness and
contrast adjustments; and the 3D rendering of the
volume can be manipulated with the customizable color
pallet to highlight hard tissues, soft tissues, implants, and
mandibular nerve canals.
Implant library for more accurate implant planning
With a comprehensive implant library available for
treatment planning, you can more accurately plan
for surgery with the actual size, shape, and implant
manufacturer you plan to place on your patient. The
implants can be placed within the 3D volume and
evaluated in relation. You also have the ability to
prioritize your favorite implant libraries and create
your own custom implants.
In any of the MPR views within the 3D module,
you can use the measurement and angulation tools
with confidence. Because the images are 1:1, the
measurements are accurate with no need for calibration.
Easy for any user
One of the biggest complaints we hear is that 3D
software is just too difficult to use. When we set out
to develop our 3D software, we kept this in mind. The
Kodak 3D imaging module is extremely intuitive, has a
short learning curve, and provides both the novice and
experienced user with all the tools they need to properly
evaluate and workup a case. Tools such as implant
planning, measurements, brightness and contrast, bone
density, obliques, cross-sections, MPR views, real-time
re-slicing, 3D rendering with custom color palettes, and
nerve tracing enable you to quickly and easily make full
use of your Kodak 3D system. If you need to share the
image and workup with your referral, simply click on the
CD icon and you can burn the complete image, along
with the 3D software, to a CD or DVD.

The panoramic view from the 3D volume displays the location of the mapped nerve canal as well as the vertical location of the implant.
Being able to display a transaxial view is critical to seeing the placement of the implant in the bone. The measurement of cortical and cancellous bone will let you know what you have to work with.
An overall view of the implant with the surrounding structures allows you to see how the implant will look and lets the patient get a better understanding of recommended treatment.

Easily share data with anyone
Often, the data needs to be shared with a colleague or
referring doctor. The 3D imaging module has a CD/DVD
burning option that will copy the data as well as the
entire 3D software to a disk that can be shared.
Printing is easy, too!
Any of the views within the 3D imaging module can be
printed and added to a patient file, used for insurance
purposes, or even taken into surgery. Templates that
show an area of interest can be displayed in a wide
variety of ways.
Integrate images into patient records
in seconds
Capturing your active workspace into your patient’s
file is often a great way to maintain records on the
patient. The panoramic view from the Curved Slicing
tab or cephalometic view from a sagittal view can
be captured and maintained in the patient’s record.
The 3D rendering is the most understandable view
for a patient, and capturing the view that they best
understand can be done with 3D imaging module
screen capture tool.
Get instant density readings
Understanding the relative density of objects in the
3D volume is critical. A grayscale value of the images
is displayed in the lower right corner of the software
whenever you move your cursor over the area of
interest.
