INTRODUCTION

NSRIT is located in an idyllic environment near Simhachalam in

Visakhapatnam. Though a Fledgling, the Institute has earned a place of esteem and

the patronage of reputed business organizations. To make life at NSRIT pleasant

and comfortable for its students, the Campus is provided with the finest facilities

and educational resources, which is established in the year 2008. The Library is

one of the important facilities well developed with Digital Library and

Reprographic facilities. This is equipped with new library software which helps in

systematic organization of the library. Students can easily find books through

OPAC. Journal section and Reference section equipped with advanced journals is a

special attraction for the library. The library is offering the following service.

Book Section and Procurement

The Books and Journals are recommended by faculty by using selection tools

like books in Print, Trade Catalogue, Publishers Catalogue, Amazon.Com, and

decision taken by the librarian. In case of general and reference books students

may recommend to the Librarian after obtaining necessary approval. Orders

will be placed for procurement of books with approved vendor.

Classification Scheme

The Library has adopted Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC 22nd

Edition) scheme, which has been widely recognized by International Community.

Locating the Documents

Books are arranged according to call numbers on the shelves. OPAC Facility

has been provided to assist the users in locating the materials. The Users can

access the database through Author, Title, Accession No., Department and

combination of Author ,Title and Publisher.

Arrangement of Books

The Library has adopted open system. The Books are arranged as Text

Books (Issue Books) and Reference Books (only for Reading) The books

acquired are accessioned, classified . After processing, the list books are

displayed for 15 days and these list is labeled as "NEW ARRIVALS".

GENERAL SERVICES:

Library Orientation:Every year conducting orientation programme for freshers. Text Book Service: Books Prescribed in the Syllabus. The Section works from 8.30 A.M to 4.30

P.M. Periodical Service: The Library subscribes to 80 Periodicals both National and International. Digitized Service: Through CD writer CDs are written and given to users for NPTEL Video

Lectures. And a soft copy of question papers of previous year university examination is given in Pen

Drive or CDs to users. Lending Services: Books are issued to users from 8.30 A.M to 4.30 P.M Reference Service: 4.30 – 5.30 PM Reprography: The Reprography service is provided in the Library ie old question papers for all

subjects,IES old papers etc., OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue): The different types of searches available to the users as

simple Search.And up to date information available like books,Journals/ Magazine,Project

Reports,Question papers,NPTEL Video lectures,E-paper clippings,CDs,DVDs etc. CD ROMS: A collection of 1521 CD/DVD's are available on Various Courses.

Magazines and Newspapers: The library receives 22 Magazines and 9 Newspapers (National and Regional) and Employment News,Udhyoga Sopanam that provide latest Information regarding Job Opportunities to the user community.

Newspaper Clippings: Important information in Newspapers is Xeroxed, clipped and display on the notice Boards and also kept in to the file.

Reference Service: Reference section we have Subject Books Dictionaries, Handbooks, Current Technical Journals etc.,

Current Periodicals: The library subscribes to about 65 Periodicals both National and International, Which are displayed branch -wise on separate racks. The latest issue is displayed on the racks and back volumes are kept beneath the desk of the rack.

Back Volumes of Periodicals: The loose issue of periodicals are withdrawn for binding as soon as the volume is completed. These bound volumes of periodicals arranged in the reference section. There are about 250 Back Volumes of Journals in different branches.

Competitive Books Section: Competitive books also provide to students. Digital Library: The Library has well equipped Digital Library with 10 systems like IEEE,DELNET,ASME,ASCE,NDL,KNIMBUS and provide useful links for Open Access Journals,Books,News Papers etc.,
