COMMUNITY CARE FUND
Today we have an opportunity to bless someone in our church or com-munity who is in need, and thus fulfill the command of Christ. The Commu-nity Care Fund of First B is used to share the love of Christ in very tangi-ble ways by helping our friends and neighbors pay for such things as rent, utilities, medical, car repair, food, etc. when they find themselves unable to pay for these basic necessities due to a wide variety of circumstances. The 1st Sunday of every month has been set aside to encourage special offer-ings from God’s people to make this important ministry of the church pos-sible. Envelopes are provided in your bulletin and may be placed in the offering plates during the service. Please dig deep and give generously.
Here are a few statistics:
APR 1, 2014 - DEC 23, 2014:
We have had approx. 108 requests for assistance and have granted at least some financial assistance to all but 9 (mainly be-cause they don’t live in Isanti County)
We have had requests totaling $95,000 and we have granted a total of $60,000 or 63%
The Community Care Fund bal-ance as of APR 1 was approx. $35,000. Approx. $35,000 has been donated so far this fiscal year. The current balance as of DEC 23 is approx. $10,000.
FAREWELL OPEN HOUSE Pastor Bob and Nancy will be com-pleting 9 years of ministry at First Baptist Church in JAN. We have been blessed by them in so many ways. We will honor them with an open house to celebrate what God has done in and through their ministry and look forward to what God will do as they transition into a new phase of life. Please join us for cake, coffee, memo-ries, hugs and laughter. Sunday, JAN 11, 3pm to 6pm with a Program at 4pm.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT PROGRAMMING Will resume on JAN 7.
UKRAINE MISSION 2015 Spring of Life, our sister church in Ukraine, has invited First Baptist to teach English in a VBS setting the summer of 2015. There will be an informational meeting on Ukraine Mission 2015, Wednesday, JAN 14, 8:15pm in the Fireside Room.
FRIENDS FIRST QUILTERS 1st Saturday/Month, 8:30am - Noon in Room 201. Learn new tips, share your knowledge, and fellowship with other quilters. Beginners to advanced quilters are encouraged to attend. Contact Gale Husom 763.742.7455 for more information.
WOMEN’S BOOK CLUB The Women’s Book Club will be read-ing “Life Along The Silk Road” by Susan Whitfield for our next book. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month

ADULT ED CLASS - TELL ME MORE JAN 4 we will end our Eschatology class with “What do we know for sure?” JAN 11 we will begin to study Spiritual growth and maturity with various teachers. 9:45am, Fireside Room
ADULT ED CLASS - JOURNEY Journey, 9:45am - Room 202, is starting a new focus, using Pastor Bob's last sermon about God’s grace upon grace, and six things he felt the Church should be or should have. It is not only a New Year but also a New Journey at First Baptist without a lead pastor. Join us as we look at God’s unchanging grace, even when the world has tried to turn our values up-side down. We will learn more about FBC’s ComPass ministry as we try to build community passion based on God’s costly grace. We will be using short DVD clips (7-14 min.) from Ru-mors of God by Darren Whitehead & Jon Tyson that will ignite a passion in your heart to see your faith come to life. Other clips by Tim Keller and Dave Ramsey will be used as well. Come ready to share.

WEDNESDAY PRAYER FOCUS The weekly issues of the Prayer Focus are available in an acrylic holder at the end of the mailboxes, lower level.
SUNDAY SCHOOL 9:45am every Sunday morning. Learn more about the opportunities availa-ble for you at the Welcome Center in the lobby.
CHILDRENS CHURCH Children (age 5 - grade 2) are dismissed from the 11am service and brought to the Children’s Ministry room to learn the love of Jesus through object lessons. Children are picked up by their parents after the service.

WALKERS AND WHEELCHAIRS We have walkers and wheel chairs available through our church’s Con-gregational Care Center. Call the office for an appointment so you can be fitted with the right size for you!

WELCOME CENTER/MORNING HOST Do you have a passion for meeting and welcoming guests to FBC? We would love to have you serve at the Welcome Center and/or be a morning host on Sundays. Contact Michelle at [email protected].
PARENT CHILD ROOM Located outside the multi-purpose room by the west stairwell, parents are welcome to use the room to care for crying babies, feed infants, change diapers, etc. A privacy curtain can be pulled for nursing.
KIDS U Wednesdays, 6:45pm is for children in grade 1 - 5. It begins with large group les-
sons focusing on who God is and who we are in Him. Kids are then able to choose from different 3-week classes (building a birdhouse, sewing, baking, Bible trivia, how to share your faith, and more)!
KIDS U T-Shirts (adult & youth) are available for $5.00 on Wednesday nights, or by contacting Burke.
WEDNESDAY CHILDCARE Childcare is provided for children (infant - Kindergarten) whose parents volunteer and/or attend an adultED class.
