Brother Knights,
A continued thank you to all of you for doing what you do! Happy Belated Independence Day to all of you! I hope everyone had a safe and joyful Fourth of July. With many Knights and
their families taking vacations this month I also wish you all a safe, happy summer with your families.
First off a big thank you to Andy Robinson for the use of his house and property for our officer installation. It was well attended
and as you will see from the pictures, it was a beautiful day. Its official, you’re all stuck with me for another year!
Get ready Knights because here we go. Once again its fair time! As you all know this is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and
will set the tone for the budget and ministries we can support next year. Please be as generous with your time as you can, and
get out to the fairgrounds to help in the fish shack and Kirk Hall. As of a few short days ago we only have 54% of the slots filled,
so please get out and grab an extra slot or two so we can make this fair a success! Don’t forget wives are greatly appreciated
and always welcome as well.
Also, keep Reece’s roundup in mind this coming weekend, July 30. As you know Jeff Rubino is a Brother Knight, so we will do
everything we can to support his son Reece and his family with this important fundraising event. Please help out the Rubino’s
and have a good time this Saturday doing it.
Also look at the activities section later in the newsletter, and at the calendar on the website for all event information.

You are all a hardworking bunch, and for that I thank you, and I am sure our Lord will bless you for your charity of time and talent
during this busy activity season.
Vivat Jesus!

Thank You Brother Knights!
As most of you will have seen in the weekly bulletin, there is an active Men’s Ministry here at St. Francis. The theme of the ministry is Men Strive
to be Saints, and it’s mission is to help men of every generation to strive harder to know Jesus, learn about his mission and teachings, and understand how we are all called daily to accept the Grace of The Holy Spirit in our lives. By doing so we will become better versions of ourselves, and by learning how to give control to Christ, we will actually be empowered by The Holy Spirit to become better husbands, parents, children, siblings, workers, and every other role we play in the world today. We meet weekly at 6:00 am on Friday’s in Assisi Hall. There is a half hour video presentation followed by 20 minutes of small group table talk. We break just in time for 7:00 am Mass or to go about the rest of your Friday. We’d love to see every Knight participate. All are welcome! For more information see the weekly bulletin or contact one of the core team members of Matt Coyne, Dom Cingoranelli, Mick Harper, Jeff Bennis, Andy Kilman, or Kevin Zink

Minutes were approved as published. Chaplin Report Deacon Jake briefed the Council on the Fortnight for Freedom Rosary to be held after the 9:30am Mass on Sunday, June 26
th in Assisi Hall. The U.S. Bishops are placing the
emphasis on Religious freedom rights as set out in the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and the attempts at
abridgement of these rights by various political forces in recent years. The “Patriotic Rosary” will be offered with a focus on 6 threats to Religious freedom: 1. HHS mandate for sterilization, contraception, and abortion inducing drugs, 2. Penalties on Catholic foster care and adoption services, 3. State laws forbidding Christian charity and pastoral care to immigrants, 4. Discrimination against small church congregations by barring them from renting public buildings for church services, 5. Discrimination against Catholic humanitarian services based on their refusal to provide or refer for contraceptive and abortion services in violation of Catholic teaching. 6. Denial of student organization status for Christian based groups on college campus. Applications and Admissions Financial Secretary, Alex Onda reported that we have 4 pending applications to be voted on in our next meeting, Charles Wennogle, Larry Cardman, Bill Langhe, Kyle O’Donnell. Grand Knight Report – Sunday, June 26
th is set for officer installation at Andy Robinson’s house.
Arrive at 11:30 am to set up for the installation and dinner. Bring a covered dish to share. Kids can swim in the pool but must be supervised as there will be no lifeguard on duty. The DC Fair is near (move in and set up on 7/27/16 and Fair starts on 7/30/16) and we need to get fully staffed up now! Special Olympics and Reece’s Roundup are in the same approximate time frame as the DC Fair so it is a very busy time for us and we need all hands on deck! Dean Rushing will coordinate our Fair Parade participation on August 6
th. Treasurers Report Checking balance as of 5/31/16 is
$52,760 and, due to low operating expenses, we are $8,000 positive to Budget. Financial Secretary Report Three checks presented for approval: Supplies $64.75, Chamber of Commerce renewal $ 325.00 and 5
th Sunday Rosary feed

On the Bean Bag Tournament, Rob Kidd reported that we are waiting for the insurance coverage to clear for the event and we have applied for a permit to serve food. The event will be held at Founders on 8/27/16. Need members to donate the Boards, as 80 total Boards will be needed. Jason Faylor reported that Reece’s Roundup is set for July 30
th and that about 26 Knights are needed to staff the event.
Plan to arrive at 5:30 am – 6:00 am for set up work. Jason needs input on the dates for the 2017 DC Fair so that the Rubino family can avoid a conflict in scheduling next year. Steve Gottula has scheduled the “Shroud of Turin” program for 4/4/17 -4/6/17 and he donated $1,000 of his own money to secure the dates. Alex Onda reported that 16 Sir Knights were on hand at Ave Maria for the ordination of Sean McCann and 21 Sir Knights participated in the Memorial Day honor guard at Parker Cemetery. The “Hike to Help Homeless Veterans” was well attended and several opportunities for improvement were identified for future events.
