What’s so unique aboutKLINGERsealex?KLINGERsealex is a PTFE productmanufactured from a unique, physically networked fibrillated material. It is composed of speciallyprepared fluorocarbons with exellentresistance to aggressive chemicals aswell as offering secure sealing underhigh pressures, even permitting theuse of the material in applications upto 150 bar internal pressure ratings.
Important approval certificationsand tests:”DVGW – Forschungsstelle DeutscherVereine des Gas- und Wasserfaches”(Research and Development Centre forGerman Gas and Water Utilities) – new tests in preparation.”BAM – Bundesanstalt für Material-prüfung” (German Federal GovernmentAgency for Materials’ Testing).Tested for oxygen at 60 bar and 125°C.Also suitable for liquid oxygen.TÜV – approved (”TÜV – TechnischerÜberwachungsverein” – GemanFederal Mechanical Testing Authority):Certification No. 3/4872.

KLINGERsealex:The universal sealing solution
of the products is its ability to compensate for non-ideal flange conditions, a small amounts of residue material on the flange face ispermissible.
Next apply the strips of sealentstraight from the roll onto the flangesurface, as shown in both the photographs. Apply the tape eitheroverlapping at the ends or cut acutelyand abutted – as shown in the photograph on the right. That`s allthere is to it!
If need be, you can use twostrips of tape bonded over oneanother.
When re-assembling the flange, you can work with the usual assemblytorque – then fit and forget. There is no need to re-tighten the bolts with KLINGERsealex.
However, if it is possible to re-tighten the flange assembly after 24hours, then you can reduce theapplied bolt load by half.
Despite its versatility and ease of handling. KLINGERsealex shouldnot be viewed as a temporary solution, but as a high grade permanent sealwith unique characteristics.
● When the sealing surface or thestability of the flange prevents thesuccessful use of a conventional seal.● When the geometry of the flangeseating demands an intricate gasketshape, which is both difficult toassemble and uneconomic to manufacture.● When the flange material withonly permit the use of low bolt loadsto seat the gasket but the media in the system and the associated interiorpressure demands a high integrityseal.
These are just some of the areasin which you can use KLINGERsealex. You may have other ideas for its use, either as a replacement for conven-tional gasketing or as a hidden reserve for unforeseen circumstances. Please call us for a sample and associated technical information onthe product.

As you can see, with just a fewrolls of KLINGERsealex you have thesame level of security as with conventional gaskets.
Furthermore, you have the secutity knowing that you are equipped for all eventualities.
KLINGERsealex can be applied to any sealing face, giving excellentsealing performance even at low boltloads.

Quick, easyto assemble – sealing on aroll
You are prepared for every eventualitywith KLINGERsealex – ”safe sealingon a roll”. Under service conditions of–196°C up to +260°Cand pressure ofup to 150 barKLINGER-sealex offers secu-re sealing on a roll.
The following applications ofKLINGERsealex will give you someidea of the innovative uses of thisproduct. Further references are available on request.
KLINGERsealex in turbine con-structionOperating conditions: 8 bar at 240°C.A sealing material was required for anumber of flanges in the low-pressurearea of the turbine house of a nuclearpower station.KLINGERsealex succeeded in replacing the traditional seals andreduced the time needed to clean theflange faces giving savings of some40-workforce hours every time thejoints were replaced. These savingsare in addition to the savings made indismantling and assembling the jointand in the cost of materials, whichwould otherwise have been used.
KLINGERsealex in dryer kilnsOperating conditions: 230°C. Tunnel kilns for the kiln drying of coated/lacquered steel and aluminiummetal elements on the air flow feedand air extraction sides are sealedwith the new ”miracle of the roll”.KLINGERsealex replaces woven tapefabric, flocked side panel claddingand other insulation materials with orwithout asbestos.
KLINGERsealex adjusts extremely well to all flange sealing conditionsand possess outstanding resistance to paint solvents and cleaning agents.
KLINGERsealex as a temporarysolution in pipeline systemsOperating conditions: Aggressive agents at 5 bar and 32°C.An extremely aggressive mixture ofdistilled water, vulcanisation agents, carrier agents and pigments is conveyed via a pumping station andassociated piping system.KLINGERsealex is also employed here for repairs in emergencies. Theresults are surprising. An emergencysolution becomes a permanent fixture.
