Case Study: SAP Calculations
Background:Kings Crescent is an ambitious estate regeneration project involving the comprehensive redevelopment of the Kings Crescent Estate in Hackney.
The project will be built in a range of blocks, designed to be integrated into their local surroundings using clear and simple designs that changes in height in certain locations.
This is phase 1 of a five year masterplan, which will total 765 units, of which 490 will be new build and 275 refurbished properties.
Brief:Higgins required a consultant to carry out SAP calculations to demonstrate compliance with Part L1A and Part L1B of the Building Regulations.
Services Provided:Using FSAP 2012, Stroma was appointed to carry out As-Design and As-Built Stage SAP Calculations including U-value calculations and EPC lodgement. A dedicated SAP Assessor also provides SAP design and compliance advice.
We were also selected to carry out SBEM and BREEAM, Code and Air testing. By utilising the same consultancy to provide SAP Calculations and Air Tightness Testing we can issue EPC’s immediately after testing as our Engineers are able to work in partnership with the SAP Assessors, ensuring results on site in real time.
