Kilve

Key findings at KilveMy key findings are shown around this page. For example I would not usually enjoying making sculptures but we formed a sculpture out of rocks running down a stream which can be seen to the right. I then also created a sculpture back at Kilve Court which can be seen bottom left. I found a strength in sculpture while in kilve. I also formed a liking for charcoal and landscape piece which I didn’t enjoy as such before.

Rationale for chosen pathway • I chose the Fine Art route and decided to take it in a direction of

exhibiting to Londoners what A simple country side town like kilve has to offer. I think that the best way in showing people the Rural side to England would be to display an array of artworks.

Proposal 1My first proposal is to showcase two large scaleMixed media pieces at the Tate in London. I wish to show Londoners two key features of kilve. One being ‘the beach’ and secondly ‘the hills.’ I think that the charcoal drawing on the left which I did in kilve went right for me. I liked the energy and the way I captured the atmosphere so decided to produce A large A2 Mixed media piece on the right I used Charcoal and ink for this drawing

Proposal 2I would like to showcase a collection of landscapes from Kilve to the general public in London. I would like to do this as an exhibition at British Museum. I think that producing a collection of landscapes using Dry point printing is a good way of expressing the British country side as I think the use of ink catches the almost still nothingness aspect of the country side.

Proposal 3

• My 3rd proposal is to produce a Large scale Painting comprising aspects of the surroundings in kilve such as the beach and the hills. I took inspiration from Amy Shackleton’s paintings showing urban and rural forming together.

Conclusions and justification for choice• I believe that Tourists as well as Londoners and citizens of other cities

in England do not see the landscape of rural England enough and are to used to Urban scenery.
