Year 2

Watch the following clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9C56mFNp60 What do you think about Mr Wolf’s version?

Using the cartoon clip to help write a diary recount from Mr Wolf’s perspective. Is Mr wolf really as bad as he seems or was he really trying to find the real granny? In your work include: - Expanded nouns -Conjunctions (and, but, because, so)

Tuesday 30th June

Year 1

The story we are exploring is very similar to Michael Rosen’s ‘We’re going on a bear hunt!’ Watch him read the story and think about what is similar and different between the two stories. https://youtu.be/ytc0U2WAz4s

Watch both video clips and then on a piece of paper make two columns with two headings similar / different. Can you note down what the same is and what is different about the two stories?

Year 2

Yesterday we heard Mr Wolf’s side of the story and today we will hear Grandma’s version! Watch the following clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kpLdVa7mgk

Imagine you are Grandma and you have been asked to make a wolf ‘WANTED’ poster. How would grandma describe the wolf? What does he look like? How does he behave? What crimes has he commited? In your work include: -Commas for lists -Expanded nouns -Different sentence types (?!.)

Wed’ 1st July

Year 1

We’re going on a leaf hunt and bear hunt are both stories about journeys. They would make good board game stories. You could base a game on snakes and ladders where they travel up through the settings but if they don’t get things quite right they have to go back another way like the ladder.

Can you design your own game or board game based on the stories you have explored this week? Post them to our blog to share your ideas or design them on purple mash using a template of your choice. Make sure you label it.

Year 2

Today you are going to hear from the police man who attended the Little Red Riding Hood incident. Watch the following clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLEUXeI0Udo So far this week we have heard from three different characters who have given their perspective of what has happened.

Today you are going to plan your own version of Little Red Riding Hood. How does the story really end? Can you come up with your own twist to the well-known story? Use the story plan template to record your ideas or feel free to write your story on paper. Let us know via your class blog when you have completed today’s task. Have fun!

Thursday 2nd July

Year 1

Pencil to paper day. Now that you have designed a new game based on a hunting journey, can you write a set of instructions on how to play the game?

Watch: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zkgcwmn/articles/zfrcmfr to explore how to write a set of clear instructions, thinking about the key features you need to use. Then write your instructions for your game and post them to our blog. Maybe you could follow someone else’s instructions for a game and let them know you have played it.
