KES Rules

1. RULES AND PENALTIES ON ABSENTEEISM

① 1~2 absences a week, 1 absence-verbal warning and 2 absences- written verbal explanation to the administrator. - Notification to parents when absent for more than six times a week

② With 3 absences a week, the student will be automatically suspended and parents will be notified. - After submitting an excuse letter, the student can go back to class.

③ If there is additional absence after the notification to parents, the student will be expelled automatically considering no intention of completion of the school course.

④ Absence will be recognized as attendance upon writing the request form and approval

2. PENALTY FOR CURFEW VIOLATORS (GOING OUT / STAY OVERNIGHT)

- Curfew Hours: Mon-Thu (~22:00), Sun (~22:00)

① One time curfew violations will only be given warning.

② Two time curfew violators will be grounded for a week and have an administrator’s interview.

③ When going out or staying out overnight incidents without notice manager will notify parents and give the administrator’s interview.

④ If there is additional going out or staying out overnight incidents without notice after interview with administrator, the student will be expelled automatically considering no intention of completion of school course

3. PENALTY FOR DORMITORY RULE VIOLATIONS (ALWAYS WEAR STUDENT ID CARD IN THE SCHOOL)

① If students are smoking & gambling in the dormitory and if females enter in male’s dormitory or vice versa, they will be given warning.

② If students drink liquor or alcoholic beverage in the dormitory, 1st warning will be given and students will be grounded for a week.

③ If drinking is more than twice, the student will be expelled automatically considering no intention of completion of school course.

④ If students of the opposite sex sleep together, parents will be notified and it will lead to automatic expulsion from school.

⑤ Making noise due to drinking, vandalism and disputing with students will automatically lead to expulsion from school.

⑥ Disputing with staff/ teachers or failure to follow school rules will automatically lead to expulsion from school

4. PUNISHMENTS FOR SCHOOL AND DORMITORYY OFFENSES

① 1st & 2nd offense: verbal and written warning

② 3rd offense: notice on school bulletin boards, administrator’s interview

③ 4th offense: grounded for a month (including weekends)

④ 5th offense: notification to parents

⑤ 6th offense: expulsion (Expulsion = No refund)

5. PENALTY FOR VIOLATORS OF THE ENGLISH-ONLY POLICY (EOP) - P20 fine for every violation


6. DORMITORY REGULATIONS

① Students can only use the dormitory assigned by the school. The rental is not transferable.

② If there is a vacant dormitory, the student can occupy it after consulting it with the administrator. However some requests of the student cannot be guaranteed due to limited vacancy.

③ Daily necessity consumables (toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, toilet paper) can be purchased in the dorm.

④ There is no reimbursement of clothes washed in washing machine if there’s a damage (shrinkage, discoloration, revocation)

⑤ Regular schedule of cleaning dorms and washing clothes is 2 times a week, but if any request for that, the school will consider it.

⑥ The school is not responsible for loss of personal belongings, valuables, and cash. If you have valuables, you can request administrator to keep it.

⑦ Drinking and smoking in the dormitory is prohibited but there is an available designated area for smoking.

⑧ No loitering.

⑨ Mix of gender in one room is prohibited in any case. When disclosed, you can be expelled without refund unconditionally.

⑩ Students from other school or outsiders are prohibited to be in the school premises in any case, unless with a valid reason.

7. CLASS RULES

① When adding class hours: On weekdays, additional 1 hour is P3,500 for 4 weeks

② Alternative class - No classes on national holidays or holy days and there is no compensation for it - No class due to natural disasters, still not compensated.

③ Manners in the classroom - No eating in the classroom & Wear your student ID during class time - Maintain good manners and right conduct & Dress properly

④ Study rules (no electronic gadgets) - During class time, don’t be late; don’t leave early; don’t be absent. - Students should follow the teacher's instructions on homework / tests.

⑤ Cutting class, late arrival, no-show - Absent for 3 weeks without prior notice, the amount paid will not be refundable. - Arrival later than the start of the class will not be compensated and it is not refundable.

⑥ Minimum number of school days are 18 days (4 weeks basis) - Due to holidays or non-working days or the school’s particular activity. If there are missed lessons, the school will guarantee to provide supplementary lessons on Saturdays and/or Sundays.

⑦ Certificate

- More than 95% attendance of the student will be included in the certificate.

⑥ BOOK FEE: Differential payment depending on the student’s level (P250/ book)

3. REFUND POLICY ∎ Pre-departure cancellation of training

① Cancellation 4 weeks before departure: Full refund, excluding registration fee $100 ② Cancellation 3 weeks before departure: Refund except for registration fee $100 & penalty $50 ③ Cancellation 2 weeks before departure: Refund except for registration fee $100 & penalty $100 ④ Cancellation 1 week before departure: Refund except for registration fee $100 & penalty $150 ⑤ Cancellation 3 days before departure: Refund except for registration fee $100 & penalty $300 ⑥ Cancellation 1 day before departure: Refund except for registration fee $100 & penalty $500

∎ Cancellation of training after departure

① Refund request must be filed through a written application. ② The course period is 4 weeks. If the period started, it will not be refunded anymore. ③ If expelled due to failure to comply with school regulations, no refund. After the written request was

confirmed, the school will remit the refund to student’s account within 30 days after the training.

The same refund policy applies for campers. But the amount paid to the Philippine government is not refundable.
