P a g e | 5 Day 1: Nomadic Camp, Masai Mara Reserve (Sun, 6 September)
Activities Arrive into Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta Interational Airport. Go through immigration and visa formalities. Our reps will be there to transfer you immediately to your private charter flight to the Masai Mara.
Masai Mara Reserve The Masai Mara together with Tanzania’s Serengeti form Africa’s most famous wildlife park. The image of acacia trees on an endless grass plain epitomises Africa for many, and then add a Masaai warrior and some wildlife to the picture and the conversation need go no further. The annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Masai Mara is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. But that is not where the game viewing ends; large prides of lions, elephants and giraffes in grasslands, gazelles and eland to mention but a few. Aside from traditional vehicle safaris, hot-‐air ballooning over the Mara plains has become almost essential and you can even do a horseback safari.
Highlights
o No wasting precious time spending the whole
day on the road to the Mara. o No wasting time transferring to Wilson Airport
and thence to the Mara -‐ your private charter flight will be waiting for you at JKIA itself and you will fly directly to the Mara as soon as you exit your international flight.
o We have negotiated extra baggage allowance for those heavy lenses! Instead of the usual 15kg luggage allowed on normal bush flights, you will be allowed 20 kgs per person.
Overnight: Nomadic Camp Nomadic Camp will be at the exclusive disposal of your photography group and you will be cared for by a team that have managed safaris in the Mara for over 30 years. It comes hand in hand with an elite group of top guides all born and bred in the Maasai Mara. Nomadic Camp gives you a safari specially designed around your specific
P a g e | 6 requirements. This includes targeting the species you want to see as well as enjoying it at your own pace. With the expertise of East Africa’s most skilled guides at your disposal, your safari will take you to places where the scenery is breathtaking and the wildlife—as spectacular as it was a hundred years ago. The Nomadic experience is intimate, enriching and extraordinary
Highlights of Nomadic Camp o The camp is located at a special campsite within the
Mara Triangle. See map. o As you can see, there are almost no other lodges or
camps in the Mara Triangle area, so you will be far from the crowds and not have to jostle for the best positions at special sightings.
o No going in and out of the reserve every day by 6pm -‐ you will be deep in the reserve for your entire time.
o The camp will be set up as close to the anticipated crossing points as possible, so that you will never be more than 20 minutes away from the river.
o The camp itself is luxuriously appointed and will make a superb base for your group of photographers

Eight en-‐suite tents with flush toilets and bucket showers as well as a robust new Land Cruiser have replaced the shovels, bedrolls and donkeys. Meals are no longer taken straight from the tin because a specialist chef travels with the camp. Based upon the seasons, an intimate knowledge of the region, the movement of animals and the eco-‐system, Nomadic Camp travels to the areas best suited to what your party chooses to experience and your camp is set up right there.

Working on the basis of the KQ flight that leaves at about 17:00 hours, we will need to be in Nairobi by 14:00 at the latest and the charter flight will be timed accordingly. Once again, this is door to door service, with no wasted time at all.
