START-UP REPORT
The project code “2017-1-TR01-KA202-046148” named “KEEP LAB SAFETY KEEP YOU
HEALTHY” officially started on 01.10.2017 and 6 main work packages (IP) and their sub-
work packages were realized.
Work Package 1: I. Project Meeting (December 2017)
A meeting was held for the evaluation of the work and operation within the scope of the
project and for the task sharing in the works to be realized (Picture 1). In this context, the time
schedules according to the total project duration (24 months) were examined in detail and
assessments and corrections were made (Figure 1). Task sharing was carried out until the next
meeting of the project team.

Work Package 2: II. Project Meeting (14th January 2018)
The project was held in the meeting room of the Biotechnology Institute of Ankara University
(Ankara University, Hitit University, Akdeniz University and Gazi University) with the
participation of all of its national partners. The activities carried out are as follows.
W.P. 2.1. Initially, necessary accounts were opened for social media sharing within the scope of the propagation activities of the Project (Table 1).

W.P.2.2. Skype negotiation with both of our international partners in the project team and
detailed evaluation of the date and content for the kickoff meeting were made.
W.P.2.3. The outline of the Start-up Report was outlined and related officials were identified
according to job distribution.
W.P.2.4. A survey is planned to be made on the needs of the target organization, which will
form the content of the Needs Assessment Report. The time for the next meeting is set for the
preparation of the questions.
W.P.2.5. The titles of the content of the book to be prepared as training materials have been
determined and preparations for the content have been started.
W.P.2.6. Opinions about how the website should be in terms of shape, visuality and content
have been exchanged and evaluated.
Work Package 3: III. Project Meeting (29th January 2018)
III. The Project Meeting was held at the meeting room of the Biotechnology Institute of
Ankara University (Ankara University, Hitit University, Akdeniz University and Gazi
University) with the participation of all of the project's national partners. The activities carried
out are as follows.
W.P.3.1. The Meeting Agenda for the Kick-off Meeting was created and shared with partners.
W.P.3.2. The design and content of the “Participation Certificate” to be given after the Kick-
off Meeting are designed.
W.P.3.3. Participant Documents for the Kick-off Meeting were prepared.
W.P.3.4. We have had a telephone conversation with our international partners. It is
understood that our international Partners have some security concerns since Turkey was
currently in Syria to make "Olive Branch Operation”. These concerns have been tried to be
resolved, but their participation in the meeting has not been achieved. They were then given
the consent that they did not want to participate in the Kick-off Meeting.
W.P.3.5. The ground organization of the Kick-off meeting was provided and checked with all
national partners in place.

Work Package 4. Organizing the Kick-off MeetingThe Kick-off Meeting within the scope of our project code "KEEP LAB SAFETY KEEP
YOU HEALTHY" started on 1.10.2017 was held on 05.02.2018 hosted by Ankara University,
Faculty of Biology Department in the seminar room of C between 9.30 am and 16.30 am.
The list of participants is given in Annex 1, and the content of the presentation is given in
Annex 2. The Start-up Meeting was continued with the agenda below.

After the start of the necessary registration phase of the participants, Prof. Dr. Sumer ARAS
started with the opening speech (Picture 2).

Then the information of the project is presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Demet Cansaran
DUMAN (Picture 3 and Picture 4).

Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Taylan Özkan gave a presentation (Figure 5) for the planning of project
activities and the evaluation of intellectual outputs after the presentation of the project was
completed.

In the next part of the kick-off meeting, the second section titled Assessing the Project Budget
and Planning the Project Expenditures has been reviewed. In this meeting, budget items were
handled one by one and planned and the possible risks assessed (Picture 6).

At the end of the Kick-off Meeting, evaluations were made and closing speech was realized
(Picture 7).

After the meeting, the certificate belonging to the participants was signed and included in the project file (Picture 8, Annex 3).

Work Package 5: Propagation Event
On 06.02.2018, the scope and contents of our project were explained with a community of
approximately 15 people representing the target mass of our project. Then spreading activity
was organized on the content of the questionnaires that we created for the needs analysis and
the ideas were exchanged (Figure 9).
The signature of the event is given in Annex 4.
Announcements in the national media are included in Annex 5 (Ankara University) and Annex 6 (Hitit University) within the scope of the project's Propagation activities.

Work Package 6: Future Planning
The joint decisions of the project's national partners (Ankara University, Hittite University,
Akdeniz University and Gazi University) and future plans and activities have been determined
and listed below:
Clarification of the questions of the questionnaire to be carried out for the needs
analysis and statistically evaluating the results obtained by applying the target group,
Full clarification of the subject headings of the Book content to be produced according
to the results of the Needs Assessment,
Determination of the content of the educational materials to be used in the trainings to
be realized and the standardized slide design,
Designing the project logo and using it in all social media accounts of the project,
The web site has been started to be created and in addition to this, the preparation of
standardized CVs of the project partners and the uploading of the standardized images
to the web site
Planning visits to international partners in order to see applications abroad and
exchange ideas on the preparation of the training content.
