Course delivery optionsStudents enrolled in online and hybrid courses must be prepared to read assignments, ask and answer questions, participate in discussions, and take tests online. Enrollment in online and hybrid courses requires a reliable Internet connection (a high-speed connection is preferable) and the student must have the skills to understand basic computing, email, word processing and Internet navigation.

For more information regarding technology requirements, email [email protected] or phone 815-802-8900.

For purposes of KCC students, these are the definitions of three ways courses are delivered:

Face-to-face course: This course meets in a classroom and/or lab. Students should expect to use technology such as the internet, email, word processing and spreadsheets. Alternatives to technology-based tests/assessments will be available upon request.

Online course: All content/instruction is in an online format such as the Canvas course management system. An online course may be completed without the student coming to KCC’s campus. There is regular and substantive interaction between students and the instructor. A pre-approved proctor may be required when taking tests/assessments.

Hybrid course: Instruction/content occurs as a combination of face-to-face meetings at KCC and other (often online) means. Face-to-face meeting dates are included in the class schedule when possible.

Classes begin the week of Monday, Jan. 11 (except where indicated)
