The Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) has its DIT-Box to manage the recording media transfer to (LTO-6 or 7) tapes and (SSD)disks, control quality and standards, offer logging for producers, do pre-coloring work (non destructive) to check for needed visual effects and render low-res or HD files from the (U)HD/4K media for editing. A pre-selection can be saved as EDL for Avid, Adobe, FCP and DaVinci and send 'home' as low-res copy for screening. The DIT-Server facilitates extra spotting-, NLE- and Meta-Creator clients over its built-in WiFi-host.

All media files, project data, bins and settings are collected per project in one container, which makes the media easy to access, manage, transfer and archive.

The containers are shown as separate Microsoft® Windows directories, so the IT manager can easily monitor, move and manage the media. The directory can be accessed without any additional hardware and software to create backups, for example on LTO tapes, or to transfer media to Windows device such as a portable disk or laptop.

For easy communication with third party applications MXFserver uses a SQL database and the server can be accessed through the use of XML commands.

Management of projects, users, functions and storage is part of the MXFserver.net application, and can be accessed through the Administrator menu.

Rights ManagementSet up and control functions and users who receive password protected logins to access the MXFserver, media and key features. Users can have a varying level of access to media folders including production specific permissions. Users can be imported and synchronized with Microsoft® Active Directory™.

Storage ManagementThe management of storage and quotas can be monitored and controlled in graphical overviews and exported reports. You can set the amount of available storage, manage clients, and implement storage quotas.
