Name: Washington State Opportunity Scholarship Career & Technical Scholarship

Award: Up to $1,500/quarter Deadline: Multiple Deadlines

The Career and Technical Scholarship (CTS) supports Washington students on their path to high-demand trade, STEM

and health care occupations. To be eligible, scholars must enroll in an approved program, such as welding,

manufacturing or IT, at one of Washington’s 34 community and technical colleges. Scholars are eligible to receive up to

$1,500 each quarter for the duration of their associate degree, certificate or apprenticeship program. Scholars that intend

to earn their bachelor's degree after the completion of their program are not eligible for CTS and are instead encouraged

to review the Baccalaureate Scholarship. These scholarship funds are flexible and can be used to cover tuition, fees

and other costs of attendance such as housing, transportation, food and more.

This scholarship was created by Tapteal Greenway in 2016 in honor of the years of dedicated service to the local

unaware of the dangers of this condition. Here are six other facts about SCA and automated external defibrillators

(AEDs) you might not be aware of:

1. SCA can happen to anyone, at any time, regardless of age, race, or gender.

2. SCA affects roughly 16 people under the age of 18 every day.

3. Only 1 out of 10 people who have SCA outside of a hospital survive.

4. The survival rate for SCA victims decays by 10% for every minute without proper

defibrillation; after 10 minutes, survival is negligible.

5. AEDs have voice prompts and will talk the rescuer through every step.

6. Under Good Samaritan Laws, voluntary rescuers are legally protected when aiding those in sudden cardiac arrest

distress.

provide the care that American seniors will need. Senior Planning shall, at the end of each application period, make

Name: Horatio Alger Association Career & Technical Scholarships

The Career & Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the Horatio Alger Endowment Fund and the generosity

of Association Chairman Emeritus and Endowment Fund President Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarships are awarded to

students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education

at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.

Name: The Responsify Empowering Others Scholarship 2020

Eligibility: All applicants must be enrolled, or due to be enrolled, as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an

Award: This free program, teaches students how to

You can help others become more alert by speaking out against the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. All eligible high

school seniors (see requirements below) may enter the Alert college scholarship essay contest. With each edition of

Alert magazine, Golden West Publications awards a $500 college scholarship to the writer of the best drug and/or

alcohol abuse-related essay that we receive for that state/region.

Eligibility:

1. You must currently be a senior in high school.

2. Your high school must be located in one of the following states: Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana,
