    KALPAVRIKSHA 2011

    Kalpavriksha, the flagship event of Ahvan, is a platform for budding entrepreneurs to showcase

    self-sustainable business plans with a strong societal focus by sensitizing its participants about

    the responsibility and the potential difference they can make. The belief that drives

    Kalpavriksha is that the amalgamation of business principles, with efforts towards societal

    upliftment, can be a sustained and powerful tool for change. By encouraging such ideas and

    helping budding entrepreneurs seek expert advice & seed funding, Kalpavriksha promotes IIM

    Indores belief that the essence of management lies in managing one's own ambitions and

    working passionately towards achieving them.

    Kalpavriksha 11 Highlights

    Total Innovation Fund of Rs. 1,20,000/- (Business Plan Rs. 50,000/- & Social Enterprise Rs.70,000/-)

    Kalpavriksha went international this year with an entry from Harvard making it to thefinals

    110 entries from students pursuing graduation, post-graduation as well as corporate andbudding entrepreneurs

    Collaboration with Morarka Organic as Prize sponsor; NSEF, TiE Mumbai, NEN asKnowledge Partners & Springboard Ventures as Evaluation Partner

    Events Details Phases

    Phase 1 Online Submission of Executive SummaryTeams were required to submit a 3 page executive summary of their B-plan based on which a totalof 20 teams were selected out of 110 entries received from 170 registrationsJudges:Mr. M R Sreenath & Mrs. Lalitha Sreenath of IIM Indore

    Phase 2 Online Submission of detailed B-planThe short listed 20 teams were then required to submit their complete B-plan comprising of marketneed, productdescription, competitor analysis, marketing plan and financial projections. Based onthese detailed social B-plans, the top 6 teams were chosen, 3 from each categoryJudges:Mr. M R Sreenath & Mrs. Lalitha Sreenath of IIM Indore

    Phase 4 Campus Round: Final PresentationAn informal feedback session was held by Prof. S L Sunder a day before the final round.
