brought in 3 fish weighing 4 lbs 3 oz. Congratulations toboth! They helped buoy the 308.08 lbs brought in byour state team which enabled New York to finish 4th inthe standings.

Dan Murphy was our NYS alternate and enjoyedplenty of time with both our anglers taking them pre-fishing for the first three days as well as being their boatcaptain on competition day.

Dan, the state team members, Mickey, Mitchell andLogan appreciate your time and effort and everythingyou did to make this experience so successful.

“This is what it’s all about” stated Mickey Fortunato,New York Junior Federation Youth Director when youmention the golden opportunities offered through theJunior Bassmaster program! Youngsters can start outsimply fishing at a near-by pond, or at a Boys ScoutCamp and hopefully growing to compete in a near-byJunior Bassmaster Club. Then, there is always thepossibility of someday working your way up and winningthe Divisionals, Nationals and eventually, maybe win thepinnacle, the Bassmaster Classic.

Sure, its a dream, but your odds of doing so are muchbetter than those of winning the State Lottery.

Junior-Pro, Mitchell Jones of the Good Ole BoysJunior Bassmasters and Junior, Logan Schuh ofSouthern Tier Bassmasters were members of the NewYork twelve man team that competed against sevenother state teams in the Eastern Divisional. ThisDivisional was held on Lake Simcoe in Orillia, Ontario,Canada from July 20 to July 24th, 2009.

This is the first year that the Juniors were asked toparticipate and their weights were actually included inthe final tally for our NY state team totals. Logan Schuhbrought in 3 fish weighing 4 lbs 4 oz and Mitchell Jones
