Quilt Show 2019 - “Out Of This World”!

Plans are underway for our Guild’s Raffle Quilt! Chairing this committee are Margaret D. and Mary L. The pat-

tern is called Sangria, and looks absolutely beautiful. They are busy fabric shopping, and will organize the block

bags to be given out at Guild meetings soon. It’s a pieced quilt top made up of various star blocks, flying geese,

and more - and will be a very striking quilt! Thank you to Margaret and Mary for all your work on this important

project.

Vendors will soon be receiving post cards announcing the dates of our Quilt Show. We are always looking for

more vendors who may be interested, so if you have suggestions of stores or businesses in our region or be-

yond, please let us know.

Registration forms are on the website - be thinking about what quilt or quilts you will enter in “Out Of This

World”, May 4 & 5, 2019!

Quilt Show 2019 - “Out Of This World”

Our Quilt Show - May 4th & 5th, 2019 - is now less than one year away! It will be here before we

know it. Many, many thanks to Barb Clucks for stepping up to be our Co-Chair, we appreciate it so.

I would also like to thank all of you who made blocks for the raffle quilt, and so quickly! Margaret

Deleon and Mary Leach have been working hard to organize it, now to assemble and finish, and

we thank you.

There are more opportunities for all guild members to be involved with the Quilt Show as it gets

closer. Besides working on your quilt creations to enter in the show, perhaps consider making

something for the Silent Auction. When you’re cleaning and organizing your sewing space, set

aside those patterns, tools and fabric you no longer need - to donate for the Boutique to benefit the

Guild.

Remember this is our major fundraiser that supports our Guild’s programs, speakers, and charity

work for two years. Our Quilt Show Publicity needs all of us to promote the show by telling our

friends, family, and groups, and by using social media to spread the word. Even though it’s a year

away, it’s not too early to be talking about the wonderful quilt show put on by Sinnissippi Quilters!

Phyllis Campbell, Chair

Inspired By the National Parks Quilt Exhibition

At our 2017 quilt show, our special exhibit was a portion of the Inspired By the National Parks Quilt col-

lection. Jessica Prince of the Forest Preserve of Will County came to our show, along with quilter friends,

to see the exhibit because she was planning to host the entire collection in 2018. Now is your chance to

see ALL 177 quilts, in four forest preserve centers, from June 17 - July 3, 2018. This would make a lovely

day trip! There is even “Quilt Quest” - to find a certain image in a quilt at each venue, for a prize.

I will have flyers and postcards at the June guild meetings, or contact me for information. ~
