    INTRO FROM YOUR LTG

Thats right, Division 19, June is

upon us! And with June comes not

only the looming presence of Final

    Exams, but the even more

    noticeable anticipation of summer

    vacation!

Of course, in the midst of

    studying for Finals and relaxing

    during Summer Vacation, many of

us lose sight of something very

important: that fact that others still

need help! So, in the midst of your

finals prep, take a break and

make a card (or decorate a

pillowcase) for a child at a

    Childrens Specialized Hospital! Or,

before you sit by the pool and sip

your iced tea, donate some foodto your local soup kitchen!

    Just because your Key Club

may not do much over the

    summer doesnt mean you have

    to! Donate food, decorate a

    pillowcase for CSH, or do

something to support any of our

    District or International projects (of

which a full list can be found on

pages 5 and 6) with some friends,

    because even the smallest of

actions can not only be tons of

fun, but can have a massive

    impact.

    FALL RALLY

    3,000 Key Clubbers.

    13 Roller Coasters.

    1 Fall Rally.

Thats right! On October 10th, 2010,

the New Jersey District of Key Club will

be Singing the Songs of Service at its

annual Fall Rally at the thrill-inducing Six

Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ!

Picture a beautiful October day. Now

imagine it in the backdrop, reflecting

    over Kingda Kas monstrous 456-foot

high peak. Finally, imagine this stunning

sight in the distance, as you sit in an

arena with 3,000 other Key Clubbers,

fighting to win the Spirit Stick, and

    watching an amazing celebrity look-

    alike contest.

    However, the fun doesnt end

there! Once the short and fun-filled

session ends, you have the day to roam

the park as you wish. Fight your fears of

the dark by going on Skull Mountain, or

attempt to conquer the beast as you

undertake a front-row experience of El

    Toro. (continued on page 3)

    The possibilities are

    endless! This year, Fall

Rally costs only $32 if you

    get your payment in by

    October 1

    st

! If paymentcomes in late, it costs $37.

    Regardless, you are

    getting admission into the

park for almost half of the

    regular price. Of course, if

    you are a season pass

    holder, the cost of Fall

    Rally is a mere $6.

    Presidents and advisors,

    start talking to your

    schools and Boards Of

    Education now about

    arranging transportation

    to Fall Rally, since things

    are difficult to schedule

    once school starts again

in the fall. All officers, start

    promoting this wonderful

event to all of your clubs.

    And, last not but not

    least, general members,

    start getting excited to

    attend this phenomenal

    event. If you are having

    issues arranging

transportation for FallRally, contact either your

    Kiwanis Club, who would

be glad to help you get

    transportation to this

    event, or yourLieutenant

    Governor, who is

    equipped with materials

    that can guide you

    through any logistical

    problem your club may

    have in attending Fall

    Rally.

Once again, Fall Rally will be held in

the always amazing Six Flags GreatAdventure in Jackson, NJ!

combatting poverty. Clubs andmembers all over the District are

    encouraged to hold clothing and

canned food drives, volunteer at local

soup kitchens, and anything else they

    can think of to help.

absolutely amazing focus project is my

    personal favorite, and focuses on

    increasing educational opportunities

for younger children. You can help out

    by organizing mentor programs,

    participating in Big Brothers/Big Sisters,

or by pairing with our District Focus and

    organize backpack building sessions

for needy children (see page 3 for

A MESSAGE FROM THE PUBLIC RELATIONS

COMMITTEE-By Public Relations Committee Co-Chairs Nicole Darrah (District Editor) and Brian

    Cheung (LTG of Division 20)

    THE JERSEY KEY

The Public Relations Committee was formerly known as the District RelationsCommittee until it was changed during the 2009-2010 service year. The general idea

of this committee is simple: Publicize + Build + Inform = Public Relations.

Throughout the service year, this committee is assigned to create Powerpoints and

videos, contact the local media, write articles, create brochures, and to overallpublicize Key Club and its work in any way possible. We cannot do what we do withou

YOU, the members of this organization! It takes work on our part, but its a very simple

thing for you to do. Why do you love Key Club? What makes Key Club so great? What

does Key Club give to you? Instead of answering these questions in your head, answe

them by telling your friends! By letting your friends know all about the wonderful thingthat is Key Club, you are doing exactly what this committee entails: publicizing!

If you have any questions or comments about the Public Relations Committee,

contact co-chairs Nicole Darrah ([email protected]) or Brian Cheung

    ([email protected])!

ALL members are invited to submit their artwork/poetry/prose to District Editor Darrahfor inclusion in The Jersey Key, the official publication of the New Jersey District. Any

and all submissions are due by 11:59 on July 19th, so submit your work soon!

Also, any officers interested in nominating advisors or members for either the Advisor o
