career entry event at ETH. It was addressed to students and new graduates of the

environmental sciences department.

Markus Rothacher: «The universe undergoes a

democratisation process».

Markus Rothacher is professor at ETH Zurich and received from the "European

Geosciences Union" the Vening Meinesz Medal in 2018. On 25th June, he will

attend the Focus Event about the topic "Space – cutting edge research and high-

tech" as an expert.

Foamy beer and good atmosphere

On Friday, 24th May, the ETH Alumni Association invited to the VSETH

«Summerbar» on the «Polyterrasse». The good weather enticed to drink

an after-work beer. Numerous people took advantage of the offer and

enjoyed the lovely view onto the city.

Peter Perutz: «ETH is a pillar of my life.»

Peter Perutz experienced the Second World War in Prague, Budapest and

Vienna. As a young man, he arrived in Zurich and graduated as a mechanical

engineer. He is still active as an author today.

Congratulations to new professors

On the recommendation of ETH President Joël Mesot, the ETH Board appointed

several new ETH professors and conferred the title of ETH professor on two

researchers. All the new appointments consciously connect their subject

expertise with other disciplines.
