The following is an insightful commentary by Pope Francis about that heartbreaking yet consoling detail in the Gospel where the Lord still calls Judas Iscariot ...His friend even in the midst of His betrayal (cf. Lk 22:48): "Jesus is our friend. And Judas...went for his new destiny, for his destiny that he freely chose, he turned away from Jesus. And that is apostasy: turning away from Jesus -- a friend who becomes an enemy or a friend that becomes indifferent or a friend who becomes a traitor… "Let's think about this: [Jesus] does not deny this gift [of His friendship], He does not deny us, He waits until the end. And when we in our weakness turn away from Him, He waits, He waits, He continues to say: 'Friend, I wait for you. What do you want? Friend, why do you betray Me with a kiss?' He is faithful in friendship and we must ask Him for this grace to remain in His love, to remain in His friendship, that friendship we have received as a gift from Him."

FORTY HOUR ADORATION St. Joseph the Worker Parish invites everyone to participate in their upcoming “Forty Hour Adoration”. This very special event will begin with Mass and a Holy Hour accompanied by praise and worship music on Thursday, June 7 at 7:30pm followed by perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in our chapel with everything concluding before the 9:00am Mass on Saturday, June 9. The Blessed Sacrament will be briefly reposed for the 9:00am Mass on Friday, June 8th.
