Fifth Sunday of Easter Reflecting on God’s Word Over the years several television shows have focused on rebuilding and reshaping houses. For over thirty years PBS’s This Old House has offered tips on repairing homes. More recently, Extreme Makeover takes a team into someone’s home and transforms it to meet the serious needs of its occupants, often dealing with health or disability issues or trying to serve the larger community in some way. From the beginning the church has been imagined as a house of living stones, built on Jesus Christ, a dwelling place where people come for shelter and sustenance, where they can set down their burdens and find comfort and consolation before being sent back out in the world to make it a better place to live. The risen Christ is truly one who offers an “extreme makeover.” He can be trusted to shape us into a dwelling place where the Spirit of the Lord takes up permanent residence, bringing gifts to benefit the world. From the beginning there have been challenges for those who form the church, and an ongoing need for renovation to meet the needs of the time. Our efforts to make the church a home where love, mercy, justice, and peace will be found should lead us to build more firmly on Jesus our cornerstone. When the time comes, the home he promised to prepare for us and take us to should be easily recognizable. It should not be that much different from the church we have been living in all our lives. —James A. Wallace, C.Ss.R. Copyright © 2013, World Library Publications. All rights reserved

All music is originally composed; and four songs are prayers turned into songs, including, the Memorare, Marian Consecration Song, Divine Mercy and the Our Father. Other St. Anne musicians are featured in the album. CDs will be sold for $15 after all Masses. Anna has been a part of music ministry at St. Mary and St. Anne Catholic Parishes her whole life. She has performed at Carnegie Hall with John Angotti, and most recently composed original Mass pieces (i.e., The Gloria, Holy, Holy, and Alleluia, etc.), which have been adopted for use at our own St. Anne Masses. St. Anne's welcomes the newly-chartered American Heritage Girls Troop to the Kenosha area. AHG is a faith-based character development program for girls ages 5-18; we are dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. AHG was founded in 1995 and has since grown to more than 30,000 members in four countries and 48 U.S. states. With emphasis on Christian values and family involvement, girls participate in badge programs, service projects, lead-ership opportunities and outdoor experiences. Please con-tact Michelle Shaber, Troop 1027 Coordinator, if you were not able to attend the informational meeting or have any questions: 262-902-6165, or: [email protected]. The Knights of Columbus are Coming to St. Anne They are more than just guys who carry swords and wear plumed hats in parades. The Knights of Columbus have rather serious goals: to serve mankind and each other in a demonstration of the charity, unity, frater-nity, and patriotism of Catholic gentlemen. The Knights are recognized for helping to strengthen the spirituality of their members and for providing additional support for men as members of Christ’s body, as husbands, fathers, and citi-zens. Knights support the church, Catholic education, evangelical work, civic involvement, patriotic programs, and charities such as the Special Olympics. On Tuesday evening, May 20, we will have an informa-tional meeting on the Knights of Columbus, show a short DVD, hear from guest speakers from the State organization, and answer questions that you may have. Following the informational meeting, those wishing to become Knights will have an opportunity to be installed as a Knight. All men, interested in learning more (come check us out), in the multipurpose room at 7 PM on Tuesday, May 20. My Eagle Project is to erect a flagpole in the northwest corner of St. Anne’s property, behind the existing sign. The thirty five foot aluminum flagpole will be surrounded by a stone brick border and low maintenance plants. I am asking for donations to help fund this project so that we can show our patriotism by proudly displaying the American Flag. Donations can be dropped off in the gathering area after Mass or you can send them to: Nick Hohs, 8533 33rd Ave, Kenosha, WI 53142. Checks can be made payable to: St. Anne’s Troop 595. Survey Results You may recall that last fall Archbishop Lorenzo Baldisseri, General Secretary of the Synod, distributed to the bishops of the world, a preparatory document which concluded with a series of questions. Bishops were encouraged to seek consultation on these questions. Archbishop Listecki encouraged people to respond to the questions by making an on line survey available. The Archbishop reviewed the analysis of the survey results and prepared his report for the Bishops’ Conference. He wants to make the report available so it is posted on the archdiocesan website along with the survey analysis: Extraordinary Synod. You can find the results of this survey on the archdiocesan website: http://www.archmil.org/ArchMil/Resources/COMM/2014ExtraordinarySynodResults.pdf Kenosha Catholic Youth Ministry – Grades 6th through 12th These events are open to all teens in the grades of 6th through 12th and their friends. Stewardship; A Way of Life Stewardship Prayer

My church is composed of people like me. I help make it what it is. It will be friendly, if I am.

Its pews will be filled, if I help fill them. It will do great work, if I work.

It will make generous gifts to many causes, if I am a generous giver.

It will bring other people into its worship and fellowship, if I invite and bring them. It will be a church of loyalty and love,

of fearlessness and faith, and a church with a noble spirit,

if I, who make it what it is, am filled with these same things.

Therefore, with the help of God, I shall dedicate myself to the task of being all the

things that I want my church to be.
