JUNE 2017!!

BUCKEYE BREEZE

!Ways to be Happy….

Plant a flower, chase a cloud, watch a sunset, and laugh out loud, find some perfect thing to do…..celebrate just being you!!!!

My Eagle Sisters, you have made my “Flower Garden” bloom with many memories this year! I want to thank Delaware Aerie and Auxiliary #376 for hosting Randy’s and my Testimonial. Everyone did an awesome job! It is a memory that will last a lifetime. My schedule for June 2017 is:

•! Installing Auxiliary Officers at Bowling Green #2180 on June 1st •! District #14 meeting at Rossford #2322 on June 4th •! State Convention at Crowne Plaza from June 18th thru 23rd. This is a beautiful location.

Convention Center is located at rear of hotel with plenty of parking and easy access to meeting rooms. I hope to see many of my Eagle Sisters.

My year as serving as your Auxiliary Madam State President has been a memory I will always cherish! I hope I made you proud!

We lost our State Mother, Nancy Mack, on May 12. She was looking forward to attending Convention this year and having a special seat in the Past Mothers’ and Grandmothers’ section. We lost a Sister and I lost a best friend. She is looking down on all her daughters from above!

Buzzing around Ohio, Sue

Friendship is like a garden…. You must nurture it with love.

May God keep our friendship always in bloom!

Greetings, Sisters, from your Wind Chimes! We had very good attendance at the Ritual Workshop. THANK YOU to Linda Lagrou and Fremont for being the hosts this year. There are changes coming to the Ritual Competition, some to be implemented this year and some not until next year. This year there will be 5 All-Stars instead of 10 and each All-Star can only win one pin. Some time ago, the 5 All-Star winners were the team that opened the Convention the following year. Maybe we could consider this in the future. The score that will count for All-Stars will be their highest in competition. This year the teams will have the option of which phase to use with reference to ‘Do you believe in God?’ or the new version. In the questionnaire you will declare which phrase you will use, if you do not

use it you will be judged with an error. The biggest change will be next year when all One Woman teams and judges will use the book specifically for the One Woman Competition. All teams will be required to have candidates. Teams may bring their own candidates or the Ritual committee will provide them. That is up to each team. One Woman books were given to Sisters who were at the workshop. The deadline has passed for applications; now begins the time to make up schedules. This year we have 12 teams. Sisters, we really need to recruit more Sisters to compete; some Sisters are competing on several teams. The easiest way to get involved is to learn one position and compete with other Sisters on the Sure Shot team. This year we have only one Sure Shot team.

Good Luck to all of you who are competing. Fraternally, Marlene and Judy My Sisters: It has been a privilege to assist Marlene with the State Ritual. We are trying to get the Rules for Ohio in line with the International Rules. These things take time so please bear with us. The Ritual School was recently held in Fremont where the question was asked “Do we say there are visitors or the visitors are in the meeting hall”? I responded by saying that you need to say “there are no visitors”. When I arrived home, I searched to find this rule and in so doing found it in the rules for the Western Tri-State Ritual. Therefore, the answer is – either way is correct. I do apologize if this caused any problem.

AGAIN, EITHER WAY IS CORRECT. Judy Sanders, Ritual Co-Chairman

The State Trustees are accepting donations of gift cards for the State Convention raffles. Please consider donating from your Auxiliary, District, and/or yourself! Please send donations to your Zone's State Trustee. Thanking you, in advance, Your State Trustees.

Ø Reminders:

Ø Secretaries: Don’t forget to input your new Officers for 2017-18 into MMS ASAP—

Ø Grand Aerie Per Capita Tax and Funeral Benefits, and State Per Capita Tax are now payable for period ending May 31, 2017. Secretaries can find the link to all required invoices and reports on the MMS home page. Please pay close attention to how the checks are to be made out and to whom they are to be sent. THREE separate checks will be required. Payments are due by July 1, 2017. After that date, your Auxiliary will be delinquent. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Ø The next Officers and Auditor Training School will be held July 29 & 30, 2017, at Zanesville Aerie #302. Remember, ANY AUXILIARY Sister can attend the training. You DO NOT have to be an officer or auditor. The first day we will cover the auditor and all offices except Secretary. The second day we will cover the Secretary position. Bring your lap top that day if you have one as we will be covering MMS. PLEASE register for the training so we know how many packets to prepare. We are also having a school September 30 & October 1, 2017, at Lebanon Aerie #1395. Sisters are welcome to attend either or both schools. There is no cost for the training—except for your lunch!
