    O JangTAE GEUK 5 SEON/Wind

This form holds one of the most

    important concepts for the

    advancing martial artist. Wind can

be a gentle breeze, yet as it grows

in intensity it gains power and

    destructive force until it destroys

everything in its path. The true

    martial artist can harness this

    paradoxical strength and

    weakness. The more powerful we

become through our Taekwondotraining, the more peaceful and

calm we should become. This is

the essence of the Tao - the Way.

    Mrs. Nichole Morgan Brown Belt.

    Nichole has been training

    with Silva Martial Arts for

    about five years now, and

    has been working with the

tiny tigers class for most of

    that time. She also runs

    Summer Camp every year

    with Mr. Silva, where her

    crafty background comes in

very handy for all sorts of

    projects with the campers.

    Outside of teaching at

    our studio, Nichole also

teaches cooking, and arts and crafts classes for children.

Her husband Josh, and two children Kylie and Ryan also

train at our studio. Josh also helps teach classes, andrecently earned his black belt at SMA. Someday the

    June Tip

It is very important to test

when you are ready, and not

    rush through your belts.

    Training hard, and

    perfecting your basics gives

    you stronger skills to build

on later.Very few people test every

    time from white to black

    belt. Most students miss a

    testing once in awhile,

    especially at the higher

    ranks.

Try not to focus on testing

    for belts or stripes. Instead

focus on perfecting yourskills, and doing your

    absolute best!
