School is out, the sun is shining and summer is finally here!

As July and August comes upon us, it’s time to take advantage

of the summer and enjoy a nice break to rest, relax and

do some traveling.

The Senior Center promotes trips to different casinos in the area, such as:

Pechanga, Valley View, Harrah’s, Viejas and Fantasy Springs.

We also have local trips to the Federal Reserve Bank of Los Angeles (“The

Money Tour”), the Del Mar Races, Oktoberfest and Apple Season in Oak Glen.

Our Annual “Christmas in July” has started which gives everyone a chance to

support our homebound seniors. There is a Christmas Tree in the Senior Center

Lobby with the seniors’ names and their wish list. All seniors live in Westminster

and participate in our Home Delivered Meals Program. The final day for dropping

off gifts is July 18th.

Project S.H.U.E. has closed for the Summer. A special thanks to the

teachers and volunteers who assisted the children with their homework

and provided a caring environment for the students. A special thanks to Rachael

Christenson, Director of S.H.U.E. for doing such a great job for the students

and volunteers.

Thank you to Emeritus @ Valley View for the May Birthday

Cake and Emeritus @ Brookhurst for the June Birthday cake.

Thank you to Lori Papas from Uncle Pete’s for the treats for

the Mother and Fathers’ Day luncheons.

Wishing you all a happy and safe July 4th.
