HOW IT WORKS Opening times: 6:45am —6:15pm. Cost: $55.00 p/day for in house days - Less Government subsidies Reminder: The ECEC Package that was providing free care has now ended. Childcare Subsidies: If you haven’t already please apply for the CCS before the holidays. Your entitlements will include eligible hours that will receive the subsidy. Anything over these hours does not receive the subsidy. Our sessions are 11.5 hours long. Please check your invoices to ensure you are receiving CCS. Bookings: Bookings will only be accepted if OSHC accounts are up to date. A nil balance by the end of week 10 is required. You must fill out and return an enrolment form to request Vacation Care bookings. Adding more days after the booking sheet has been received by OSHC can be via email or text message. A confirmation will be sent to you once the bookings have been processed. Payment: Payment is required within 14 days from the date the invoice was issued. An email/sms reminder will be sent if fees are outstanding 14 days. Late fees apply when the account is overdue 21 days. Cancellations: Bookings are firm and fees will be charged for cancellations unless a medical certificate is provided. You can swap your bookings, subject to availability of places, if at least a week’s notice has been given. An alternative day must be booked at the same time you request this change . If more than 5 working days of notice has been given and you wish to cancel, half your fees will be charged. Excursions: There will be no excursions during the July 2020 Vacation Care. We hope to return to a somewhat familiar program full of excursions in the September/October holidays. Behaviour Management: High levels of appropriate behaviour are necessary otherwise exclusion may be considered. Extreme Weather: While it is hoped that all planned activities will go ahead, the program may be changed at short notice and families & caregivers will be notified. If it is forecasted to be 36°C or above, or that there will be heavy rainfall or storms, excursions/incursions may be cancelled or a private bus will be sought. Our children’s wellbeing is our top priority. Risk/Benefit Analysis: A thorough risk/benefit analysis of each excursion is carried out. Vacation Care Week One

6th-10th July Monday 6th – Science and Electronics

Today is all about sciences. We will be exploring Biology seeing how flowers drink water.

We’ll use our knowledge of chemical reactions to create Honeycomb. We’ll think like

Geologists and explore different rocks. To introduce Zoology, we’ve asked Radicool

Reptiles to visit us with some of their animal friends. Today the kids will be permitted to

spend short amounts of time on electronic devices. Tablets that connect to the internet and

phones are not permitted.

Tuesday 7th – Carnival at OSHC We will be turning OSHC into a carnival today. We will have staff teaching hula hoop

tricks and routines, face painting, juggling and acrobatic tricks. We’ll have a few carnival

foods as a treat in the afternoon. We have also hired an inflatable Obstacle Course for the

day which will be set up in the gym!

Wednesday 8th – Blocks, Boxes and Biscuits Today we will have a large number of cardboard boxes at our disposal. The children will

be able to make houses, spaceships, boats, cars and anything they can imagine. We’ll have

lots of craft equipment to spruce them up. If we can get enough we will be making a box

maze! We are also going to have a few lego challenges today and be baking a batch of

biscuits to have with a hot chocolate.

Thursday 9th – OSHC Party with Magic Mike Today we are having a party at OSHC. We will be playing some classic party games like

Pass the Parcel, Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Limbo and we will have a Dance Party after

snack. Like any good party, we will be having a visit from our favourite Magician, Magic

Mike after Lunch

Friday 10th – Cooking and Clothes Swap We will be taking due caution around hygiene and carefully supervising the children today

while they make minestrone soup to have with garlic bread at lunch and muffins to eat at

snack time. We are hosting a clothes swap in the hall during the morning. We hosted one

in the December holidays and are hoping to grow the community’s interest. What a

fabulous way for kids to freshen up their wardrobe without spending more money. This

clothes swap will have clothes for babies and children, so if you have young children feel

free to bring them along. The Clothes swap will start at 10am and run until 12pm.

Vacation Care Week Two

13th – 17th July

Monday 13th – Outer Space We are going to be out of this world with our Space theme! It’s all about aliens, astronauts

and all things from outer space. We’ll be making Galaxy playdough, doing arts and crafts

inspired by the galaxy and different cosmic games. We’ll also be making our own straw

rockets to launch.

Tuesday 14st – Sports Day Today we will be put into teams and competing in sporting activities. We don’t always

have to be the strongest or fastest to compete. Sometimes we can use our cunning, agility

or endurance to overcome our challenges. Individuals and groups will be able to win

medals for their efforts and accomplishments today and celebrate with their team at the

end.

Wednesday 15nd – Crafting There is so much we can create when we put our mind to it! Today our kids will get to

make their own soap (scented with spices, fruit and oils), print or paint designs on panels

that will be sewn together into a blanket for OSHC, decorate mugs (to have hot chocolate

in) and many more crafts. If crafting isn’t your thing, we’ll still have all our usual

activities available like board games, sports, group games and some time down at the

computer room.

Thursday 16rd – Ignite VR The great team from Ignite VR are visiting us again with their amazing Virtual Reality

equipment. Our kids had so much fun last time and were eager to try it again. So we are

pleased to have them back. The games they will bring are tailored to our group to be

engaging and age appropriate.

Friday 17th – Dress Ups and Kid’s Choice We’ve been starting to collect some new costumes and dress ups recently and will have

these available with a photo booth so the kids can get some great photos with their friends.

The kids will be creating their own photo booth props during a craft activity and can show

them off and share with others in the photo booth. If you have any unwanted dress-ups,

please feel free to bring them and add to our collection. Anything from scarves, hats,

masks to fun clothing.

based on priority. In the event that a category is oversubscribed at the cut-off date, allocation of places

will be on a first in basis. Bookings will be accepted after the cut-off date from all categories, however,

will be on a first in basis.

Parents are welcome to observe their children participating in Vacation Care activities, however we

ask that this is limited to 30 minutes each day to minimise disruption to the program.

Bookings will not be accepted if the account is not at a nil balance by the end of week 9.
