UNDERSTANDINGHOSPITAL VIOLENCE

Hospital Violence has unfortunately become more prevalent in the past few years. In order to be prepared on how to identify a potentially violent person, and what to do in a violent situation, please join us for one of the following informative educational sessions.

All employees are encouraged to attend one of these sessions. You may sign up for one on HealthStream. Each Session should last around 30 minutes.

Details will be coming soon about additional sessions to be held for Columbia and clinic staff.

0.5 Contact Hours will be awarded to Licensed Nursing Personnel.

A note of thanks...I would like to thank my T.J. Samson work family for all you have done for me during the passing of my granddaughter, little Dezrae. It meant so much, I can truly say I work with a great bunch of people and yes, she will be missed, but I’m at peace knowing that she is with God. It is still hard some days but I know with time it will get better. Once again, thank you all. Love, Kathy Franklin

Welcome, New Employees! We would like to welcome 24 new employees to the T.J. team! If you see any of our new team members out and about, please welcome them to the T.J. family. We are glad to have each new member join the T.J. organization!

Pet Therapy at TJ Regional HealthThe Paws for Healing Pet Therapy Program began at TJRH in 2007; for the last nine years we have witnessed many canines grace the halls of our T.J. campuses. These animals have provided services to many patients, their families, and our staff. If you’ve had the opportunity to see these animals in action, it is visible that both the handlers and the canines have a servant’s heart.

In July, the Pet Therapy program experienced heartache with the passing of two beloved Pet Therapy dogs. Belle, a standard poodle, was a patriarch of the program since its inception. She passed unexpectedly in mid-July. Belle spent 14 years as a Therapy Dog serving in Pennsylvania before her family moved to the Glasgow area. She was destined to be a therapy animal and she touched the hearts of many, especially our Rehab Department’s pediatric patients.

Beamer, golden retriever, member of the program since 2009 passed in early July. While Beamer had taken a break due to health reasons, he was still considered a member of our team. Beamer was a gentle giant with a unique story; he was named after a September 11th hero—Beamer carried this honor with dignity, as he was a true representation of service.

We are grateful for the years that these animals spent sharing their talents with TJRH. It’s never easy when you say goodbye to loved ones—we will miss our four-legged friends.
