Attention Regular and Regular Serving Members
We need your partner/spouse to complete the Waiver Form which is linked below at the end of the newsletter. PSP is not counting
partners/spouses in the membership numbers until they have received the Waiver Form. This has made our numbers look like they
have dropped substantially. At a time when we are fighting to justify our survival a drop of one-hundred members looks very dra-
matic even though our paying membership has not dropped to the same extent. This request applies to Regular as well as Regular
Serving members only. Please drop off the completed, signed forms at the bar for the membership chair, we will ensure it makes it
to PSP.

The Whaler Canadian Forces Sailing Association
Commodore’s Corner It has been another very busy month at the club. The recent tragedy at DSA however, has focused us all on ensuring that we are fully supportive of our close friends with whom we share our facility. I know all members join with me in extending our thoughts and prayers to the family and to those affected by the tragedy. Until the investigations are complete we will not know what really happened. It's at times like these that we are all reminded about how important safety is. To use the Sea Training mantra - never pass a fault. Watch yourself, others and what is going on around you. If you see some-thing wrong, it probably is - please fix it or report it. We are a self help club, and we rely on everyone to help fix things - if you don't do it, then it probably won't get done. The month began with a very hectic pace. The Melges World Championship was in full swing as we began CISM training camp, Ecole Victor Brodeur began training for their School League Regatta and our Learn to Sail started up and as we began gearing up for the Dinghy Regatta. In addition to all of that we finished the haulouts for the summer, maintained the docks, launched an-other coach boat and kept up the racing, junior sailing and embarked upon one of the most ambitious club cruises in many years. What an amazing club, community and family that just comes together for the love of our sport, pas-time, and the fellow sailors and friends that make up our Association. Some amazing accomplishments, and I have not even mentioned the great work going on to build the club of our future. The future property committee led by Kevin Greenwood has been busy running a competitive bidding project since March. We solicited 12 engineering firms, answered many questions, gave tours and ultimately evaluated three very substantial proposals. The committee was unanimous in its decision to enter into negotiations with Herold Engineering. We are very pleased that they are a local company that understands our needs very well and they are excited to be working with a commu-nity based organization in their backyard.

Have You Seen the New Tap Handle?
Along with our wildly successful beer selections and celebrating our 70th anniversary, we recently acquired a new “Hydra “beer tap handle.
Next up on our rotating tap is “Summer Haze” from Hoyne brewing.
Style: Hefeweizen
Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.10%
Notes : On a sunny summer day, just like today, the Great and Wonderful Oz set sail in his hot-air balloon. As ballast, some say, his basket was loaded to the brim with Hoyne Hefeweizen. After lift-off, his thirst gathered like a summer storm. Quenching it, he lightened his load, and found himself car-ried delightfully away. The rest, as they say, is his story.

Foreshore Update Summer has arrived and it is time to clean up. Outboard motors and dinghies stored on the land at the club need to be marked with the owner’s name. Also, contact the Dinghy Coordinators Barry White or Brian Rach to identify your belongings so we have an accurate list. By September 1st all dinghies and out-board motors which have not been identified will be put on a disposal list. As you are all aware CFSA will be relo-cating and we will need to make this transition as easy as possible. When using the club's equipment and tools please return them and leave your work area clean. The garbage cans have been removed from the foreshore area for the sum-mer. Please take garbage and card-board up to the dumpsters. Thank you, Vinny / Foreshore Chair
