Curious Kids – Mondays, 10:30am at Whiton and Thursdays, 6:30pm at Cheney. This fun program includes stories, activities and/or a craft around a special topic each week. This program is for children ages 3-5. Registration is required. Session 1 of Curious Kids runs through the week of July 24th. Session 2 runs from the week of July 31st through the week of August 21st. Registration for session 2 begins July 24th.

Drop-In Programs – No registration required Preschool Playgroup – Fridays from 9am-3pm at Whiton and 10am-noon at Cheney. Toys are provided and parental supervision is required. Please note we are back to the 10am start time at Mary Cheney. Outdoor Picnic Storytime – Mondays, 11:30am at Cheney and Thursdays, 11:30am at Whiton. Bring a blanket and your lunch while you relax outside to listen to stories and sing songs. This program will be held inside if weather is poor. A real llama will join us for Picnic Storytime on July 17th at Cheney! Don’t miss the chance to have “lunch with a llama!” Mother Goose Storytime –Tuesdays, 9:30am at Cheney. This program is geared towards children 0-24 months and their caregivers. Bounces, rhymes and stories are included. Creative Construction – Wednesdays, July 5th & 26th, 2:30pm at Cheney. A variety of building projects and challenges for children entering grades 3-5. Crafts – Wednesdays, 2:30-3:30pm at Whiton and Thursdays, 2-4pm at Cheney. See what awesome craft you can make each week! Geodome Workshop – Wednesday, July 12th, 2:30pm at Cheney. Math, science, art, psychology and architecture converge as teams work together to build a variety of polyhedral geometric structures. For children ages 6 and up. Horizon Wings – Wednesday, July 19th, 2:30pm at Cheney. The Birds of Prey program with Horizon Wings Raptor Rehabilitation & Education will feature four raptors, including an eagle. Learn their individual stories, as well as behaviors and characteristics they share. For children ages 6 and up. Tremendous Tuesday Family Programs Critter Caravan – July 11th, 3:30pm at Whiton & 6:30pm at Cheney. Meet and learn about a chinchilla, snake, hedgehog and more cool animals. Gigi & the Lend Me a Hand Band – July 18th, 3:30pm at Whiton & 6:30pm at Cheney. This interactive concert is full of lively music and merriment! Magic by Scott Jameson – July 25th, 3:30pm at Whiton & 6:30pm at Cheney. Join magician and juggler Scott Jameson for an extraordinary performance that will have you laughing out loud and perched on the edge of your seat! Umbrellas will be plucked from thin air, a drawing will come to life, basketballs will be spun and juggled, and a member of the audience will unlock telekinetic abilities.

Programs for Teens

take apart tuesday – Tuesdays, 3-4:30pm at Cheney. This program, for middle and high school students, gives teens a chance to take apart old toys and electronics, try coding and more! Middle School Night – Wednesdays, 6-8:30pm at Cheney. Hang out at the library to play Minecraft, video games, board games and other fun activities. Lawn Games for Teens – Thursday, July 6th, 2pm at Cheney. Rain date is July 13th at 2pm. Celebrate summer vacation with an afternoon of lawn games, including classics like bocce, cornhole and badminton. We will meet in the Howroyd Room before heading out to the park.
