Introduction

Cubic shape JTP series cubic bevel gearbox (also known as a spiral bevel gearbox, or a

right angle shaft type gear box) with the use of high-precision spiral bevel gears, delivers

high transmission efficiency and high transfer capacity, high performance, low backlash,

smooth rotation, silent drive possible, low running temperature, long life and easy

installation. General applications in multiple units worm screw jack lifting systems (the

drive shafts, universal couplings, screw jacks are connected through the cubic bevel

gearboxes), adjusted to the axis height by our worm gear screw jacks.

Features:

1. All-round machined symmetrical housing, and all-round tapped holes for universal

mounting, 6 possible mounting positions.

2. Power range from 0.1kw to 156kw, Torque range from 11.5Nm to 1199Nm.

3. Gears ratios of 1:1, 1.5:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 are actual ones. ( JTP65 with only 1:1 ).

4. Gear transmission average efficiency up to 94-98%.

5. 2 way, 3 way, 4 way configurations. Available with solid input and output shaft, solid

input shaft with hollow output shaft, IEC flange and hollow shaft input with solid output

shaft, and IEC flange and hollow shaft input with hollow output shaft. Customized NEMA

motor adapters.

6. 12 types shaft arrangements and rotating directions. Note: the shafts can be rotated in

both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation directions.

7. Mounting positions: horizontal mounting, overhung mounting, wall mounting.

8. High efficiency, high transmission capacity, low backlash, noiseless operation, low

running temperature and long service life.

Structures and Materials:

Cubic bevel gearboxes are consist of spiral bevel gears, input and output shafts, housing,

bearings and oil seals etc..

Spiral bevel gears: High purity rugged alloy steel 20CrMnTiH, carburizing and quenching,

case hardened and lapped in pairs for intersecting shafts, low noise with grinded spiral

teeth, high torque with milled teeth, high rigidity and wear resistance.

Input and output shafts: Hardened and tempered alloy steel 40Cr material, hanging heavy

load capacity With key and key way. Customized stainless steel shafts, or other corrosion

resistance painting shafts, spline shaft, shaft without key and key way.

Housings: High rigidity cast iron or ductile iron housings designed for superior thermal

conductivity provides rigid gear and bearing support.

Bearings: Heavy duty tapered roller bearing. Customized reinforced bearings for higher

radial and axial load.

Oil Seals: Double lip oil seal, prevent gear oil leak and dust-proof.

Cubic bevel gearboxes are selected on the basis of SPEED, RATIO, POWER, and

TORQUE. The “Performance Tables”, page 7-10 are designed to assist you in making a

rapid selection of the model to fit your requirements. To use this table, find your required

INPUT RPM and RATIO in the table and look across the page for the unit with the proper

INPUT POWER for your application. For example, if the application INPUT SPEED is

1500 RPM and you require a 1:1 RATIO capable of transmitting 15KW POWER, from the

chart the proper selection is a Model JTP140. The Table of Contents will guide you to the

catalog pages containing complete engineering data and specifications for the model you

have selected.

The ratings for cubic bevel gearboxes in this catalogue are based on a service factor of

1.00. For other operating conditions, the application power or torque must be multiplied by

the appropriate service factor, to determine the equivalent gear drive power rating. A gear

drive should be selected with a rated capacity equal to or greater than the equivalent

rating. Below table designates recommended service factors for various conditions of load,

power source, and duration of service.

Shaft rotation is determined by the relative location of the gears. Right hand (CW:

clockwise) or left hand (CCW: counterclockwise) rotations are determined by viewing the

end of the shaft.
