They're so used to the word being used to describe an

African American and everything that comes with being an African American, including the injustices in

court and in society.

Because in their own town, they were used to running things by their methods.  They were the

superior classes, and didn't want to degrade themselves to the level of the "lower" African

Americans.

The ending of To Kill a Mockingbird is so simple, yet so perfect, that you can't help but feel heartbroken that it's

over.

Her simple actions add

little tidbits of humor to an

otherwise sad novel.

[jem] protects his sister, and

his father, which is why I

like him [in the movie].

He always teaches Scout and Jem to treat everyone equally, no matter their

situation or beliefs.
