Congratulations on your upcoming retirement! You are about to join a special group of people

that have the time and freedom to really plan and enjoy daily activities from now on. There is a

large crowd of old friends, former colleagues and future friends waiting for you “on the other

side” eager to share memories, enjoy common interests, and just socialize. The MARS

Associates organization was founded in 1985 for Martin Marietta retirees. As Martin Marietta

changed over the years, so did MARS and we welcome all Lockheed Martin and United Launch

Alliance retirees regardless of their heritage company. Membership in the organization

provides you with the opportunity to participate in our scheduled social events such as the

Annual Picnic at Clement Park, the Holiday Celebration, and a spirited afternoon of Rockies

baseball, to name a few. There are also opportunities to participate in our active Hiking, Golf,

Bridge, Photography, and Dinner Clubs.

leveraged benefits not available through Lockheed Martin or United Launch Alliance. Any one

of the officers or board of directors listed on the website would be happy to answer any further

questions you may have regarding the organization. As a special inducement, if you are joining

as a new member in 2018, your first year membership dues are waived!

MARS ASSOCIATES is just for you

MARS Associates was founded on March 21, 1985, to provide a social, educational, recreational, and self-

improvement organization for retirees of the Denver operations of Martin Marietta including the launch sites.

The organization is now open to any retiree from Lockheed Martin or any of its predecessor companies. In

addition, membership has been extended to retirees from United Launch Alliance (ULA) independent of their

heritage company affiliation. Specific features/attributes of the organization are below:

Low annual membership dues - $15.00 in-Colorado, $10.00 out-of-Colorado and seniors (> 75 years of

age); includes you and your spouse or significant other

Dental, Vision, and Long-Term Care Insurance at very reasonable rates

Annual Social Events – picnic, luncheons, Rockies games, etc.

MARS STAR Quarterly Newsletter – information on past and current events relating to the

organization as well as Corporate, LMSSC and ULA happenings

Connectivity with other retirement associations throughout the corporation

Volunteer Opportunities

Community Service & Event Support – help your community and/or the companies with the MARS

team, for example, the Fun Run, Health Fair, Community Support Programs

MARS Support – Web Committee, In Memoriam, Event Photographer

MARS Leadership – Board of Directors and Officer positions of leadership, maximum of two 2-year

terms (see the Bylaws and Policy Manual posted on the MARS website)

Current Club Activities

Bridge Club – lively party bridge, singles welcome

Dinner Club – private lunches, brunches and dinners at attractive and reasonably priced local

restaurants in the Denver Metro area

Golf League – a handicap league open to men and women that plays weekly games throughout the

summer with a tournament in September and a banquet in the Fall

Hiking Club – planned hikes for various levels of ability

Photography Club – monthly meetings at Littleton Bemis Library (except June-August), photo-related

presentations and programs – including travelogues, photo contests, help with equipment and

photography; open to everyone.

Special Interests – You are encouraged to start a club for your special interest
