POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Golf Course Superintendent (GCS) reports directly to the General Manager and has responsibility for all

day-to-day operations of the Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club golf course and clubhouse grounds. The GCS

will lead and manage their department to ensure superb golfing conditions favoring firm, fast and green

conditions while embracing members and guests with golfing conditions that are of superior quality.

Continuing education and being at the forefront of research and technology are necessary for success. In

addition, the GCS will provide innovative and relevant leadership and in perpetuating and fostering an

educational culture of developing and producing future turf professionals. The GCS must have a natural style of

“sincere engagement” with members and staff with a love of the game of golf along with a relentless attention

to detail. The Golf Course Superintendent reports to the General Manager.

Position Highlights:

Overall maintenance, operations and management of the golf course to provide the membership with an

outstanding golf experience on a daily basis.

Supervising the preparation and maintenance of the golf course, practices facilities, clubhouse grounds, and

golf course maintenance personnel.

Interacts closely with the General Manager, Director of Golf, and Green Chair to ensure that member

expectations are met or exceeded.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

An overriding sense of quality consciousness that pervades every part of the course operations. This

The need is for an accomplished team builder, as well as a passionate, charismatic and dynamic leader.

A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as Golf Course Superintendent. A history of providing

exceptional SeaDwarf Seaside Paspalum greens and fairways.

Superintendent with experience providing exceptional golfing conditions.

Experience with poor quality irrigation water management.

Successfully managed turfs through nematode pressure.

Understanding of advanced soil science and balanced soils.

Proven leadership qualities with demonstrated ability to provide consistent excellent conditioning and

effectively direct, coordinate and control all facets of golf course maintenance.

Sound overall financial management and administrative skills with strength in internal controls, financial

controls, budgeting, management information, and critical success path planning areas.

Exceptionally strong electronic, formal and informal communication skills, both in writing and speaking.

Communication with the GM and peer Department Heads, Direct Reports and Members.

A golfer with a deep understanding of golf and the ability and desire to occasionally play golf with members

and the Director of Golf.

DESCRIPTION: Coyote Ridge Golf Club owned and operated by the Sam Moon Group is one of the premiere high-end daily-fee golf clubs in the North Texas area. We have also added over 250 new trees to the back nine as well as 1 new tee box. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 2 years golf course superintendent management public or private. Candidate should have a AA or Bachelors degree in turf management, golf course management or a closely related field. Must possess a State of Texas Certified Pesticide Applicator's License or be able to obtain the license within 30 days of employment. Job Title: Assistant Golf Course Superintendent Bay Oaks Country Club is an 18-hole bermudagrass golf course with elevated, heavily sloped TifEagle greens. The course is designed by Arthur Hills and is located in Clear Lake on the southeast side of Houston. Job Duties: Assist the golf course superintendent with planning of agronomic practices daily on

the golf course, supervision and scheduling of a maintenance crew, application of fertilizer and

pesticides, irrigation work, landscape bed maintenance, etc.

Requirements: 2 or 4 year Agronomy degree, 2 to 3 years golf course experience, TDA

pesticide license or the ability to obtain a TDA pesticide license within 90 days of employment.

directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Under the Superintendent's supervision, the Assistant Superintendent directs and
