At Communion time, please maintain social distancing between families. When receiving Jesus, with your mask in place, stretch out your hands to receive Jesus. Then step away from the Eucharistic Minister before removing your mask to complete communion.

“I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of Life.” - From the Nicene Creed we profess every Sunday
Speaking on the 25th anniversary of St. John Paul II’s encyclical “Evangelium Vitae” (On the Gospel of
Life), Pope Francis quoted the first line of the encyclical: “The Gospel of life is at the heart of Jesus’
message. Welcomed by the Church every day with love, it must be announced with courageous fidelity
as good news to [people] of all ages and cultures.” Pope Francis said: “The life we are called to promote
and defend is not an abstract concept, but always manifests itself in a person in flesh and blood: a newly
conceived child, a poor marginalized person, a sick person alone and discouraged or in a terminal state,
one who has lost his job or is unable to find it, a rejected or ghettoized migrant.”
Pope Francis was speaking from the heart of the Church. We call the Church’s Pro-Life stance as “the
seamless garment.” Our reverence for human life is full, deep, and rich, and based on the teaching of
Christ. Many equate being Pro-Life with merely being anti-abortion, but the gem we call being Pro-Life
is far more. The Bishops’ statement on Citizenship calls the protection of human life the preeminent
issue of our day, but the statement also adds that the protection of human life is all encompassing.
Working to end abortion is very important, and many faithfully and energetically devote themselves to
this facet of the gem. But the diamond has many facets, and we must keep the whole concept of
protecting human life in view.
We hold all human life to be sacred. Why? In Genesis, wherein we find the deepest expression of our
belief that God is the Author of Life, it says that to create human life God “breathed into the nostrils” of
his creation. To come to life, God breathes into each of us. The Breath of God is ultimately spoken of as
the Holy Spirit. When we strive to protect, honor, and enhance human life, it is an act of praise and faith
in God who created us.
Working to end abortion, is unarguably important; but many more are working on Pro-Life issues
without realizing it—and we should realize it! Our outreach to Haiti and India is Pro-Life. Working
with Habitat for Humanity is Pro-Life. Supporting Mercy Health is Pro-Life. Helping GraceWorks is
Pro-Life. Our Food Pantry is Pro-Life. Our St. Anthony Closet is Pro-Life. Our Christmas Basket
Program is Pro-Life. Visiting our shut-ins is Pro-Life. Whenever we assist, protect, or enhance the life of
another human being, we are being Pro-Life!

Hablando sobre el 25 aniversario de la encíclica de San Juan Pablo II "Evangelium Vitae" (Sobre el

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
In the midst of a busy and noisy world, quiet and stillness are all the more important. A
recollected mind and heart are particularly crucial for our spiritual lives. For a turbulent
soul, God always desires to give His peace. However, we must actively make time for
silence in today’s world. It is important to have this quiet time at home but spending quiet
time with God in the church is especially powerful. An excellent way to do this is to
come to weekly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Every Tuesday from 5:30pm-
6:15pm you can come and sit in silence with Jesus Christ sacramentally present.
Spending time adoring God almighty takes us out of the monotony of our daily life and
transports us to eternity. As you behold Christ under the appearance of bread upon the
altar, lay out your worries and anxieties, then listen. Time spent before the Lord in
adoration is never wasted nor better spent elsewhere. Give Him a chance to speak in the
silence and watch what happens.

En medio de un mundo ajetreado y ruidoso, la tranquilidad y la quietud son aún más
importantes. Una mente y un corazón recogidos son particularmente cruciales para
nuestra vida espiritual. Para un alma turbulenta, Dios siempre desea dar Su paz. Sin

As COVID is still raging through our community, we ask you to continue to take precautions out of charity, love and service to others. Please wear your mask in the church and all public places, and sanitize your hands frequently.
At Communion time, please maintain social distancing between families. When receiving Jesus, with your mask in place, stretch out your hands to receive Jesus. Then step away from the Eucharistic Minister before removing your mask to complete communion.

“I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of Life.” - From the Nicene Creed we profess every Sunday
Speaking on the 25th anniversary of St. John Paul II’s encyclical “Evangelium Vitae” (On the Gospel of
Life), Pope Francis quoted the first line of the encyclical: “The Gospel of life is at the heart of Jesus’
message. Welcomed by the Church every day with love, it must be announced with courageous fidelity
as good news to [people] of all ages and cultures.” Pope Francis said: “The life we are called to promote
and defend is not an abstract concept, but always manifests itself in a person in flesh and blood: a newly
conceived child, a poor marginalized person, a sick person alone and discouraged or in a terminal state,
one who has lost his job or is unable to find it, a rejected or ghettoized migrant.”
Pope Francis was speaking from the heart of the Church. We call the Church’s Pro-Life stance as “the
seamless garment.” Our reverence for human life is full, deep, and rich, and based on the teaching of
Christ. Many equate being Pro-Life with merely being anti-abortion, but the gem we call being Pro-Life
is far more. The Bishops’ statement on Citizenship calls the protection of human life the preeminent
issue of our day, but the statement also adds that the protection of human life is all encompassing.
Working to end abortion is very important, and many faithfully and energetically devote themselves to
this facet of the gem. But the diamond has many facets, and we must keep the whole concept of
protecting human life in view.
We hold all human life to be sacred. Why? In Genesis, wherein we find the deepest expression of our
belief that God is the Author of Life, it says that to create human life God “breathed into the nostrils” of
his creation. To come to life, God breathes into each of us. The Breath of God is ultimately spoken of as
the Holy Spirit. When we strive to protect, honor, and enhance human life, it is an act of praise and faith
in God who created us.
Working to end abortion, is unarguably important; but many more are working on Pro-Life issues
without realizing it—and we should realize it! Our outreach to Haiti and India is Pro-Life. Working
with Habitat for Humanity is Pro-Life. Supporting Mercy Health is Pro-Life. Helping GraceWorks is
Pro-Life. Our Food Pantry is Pro-Life. Our St. Anthony Closet is Pro-Life. Our Christmas Basket
Program is Pro-Life. Visiting our shut-ins is Pro-Life. Whenever we assist, protect, or enhance the life of
another human being, we are being Pro-Life!

humana, Dios “sopló en la nariz” de su creación. Para cobrar vida, Dios sopla en cada uno de nosotros.
En última instancia, se habla del Aliento de Dios como el Espíritu Santo. Cuando nos esforzamos por
proteger, honrar y mejorar la vida humana, es un acto de alabanza y fe en Dios, quien nos creó.
Trabajar para acabar con el aborto es indiscutiblemente importante; pero muchos más están trabajando
en temas Pro-Vida sin darse cuenta, ¡y nosotros deberíamos darnos cuenta! Nuestro acercamiento a Haití

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
In the midst of a busy and noisy world, quiet and stillness are all the more important. A
recollected mind and heart are particularly crucial for our spiritual lives. For a turbulent
soul, God always desires to give His peace. However, we must actively make time for
silence in today’s world. It is important to have this quiet time at home but spending quiet
time with God in the church is especially powerful. An excellent way to do this is to
come to weekly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Every Tuesday from 5:30pm-
6:15pm you can come and sit in silence with Jesus Christ sacramentally present.
Spending time adoring God almighty takes us out of the monotony of our daily life and
transports us to eternity. As you behold Christ under the appearance of bread upon the
altar, lay out your worries and anxieties, then listen. Time spent before the Lord in
adoration is never wasted nor better spent elsewhere. Give Him a chance to speak in the
silence and watch what happens.

Adoración del Santísimo Sacramento
En medio de un mundo ajetreado y ruidoso, la tranquilidad y la quietud son aún más
importantes. Una mente y un corazón recogidos son particularmente cruciales para
nuestra vida espiritual. Para un alma turbulenta, Dios siempre desea dar Su paz. Sin
embargo, debemos hacer tiempo para el silencio en el mundo de hoy. Es importante tener
este tiempo de silencio en casa, pero pasar un tiempo de silencio con Dios en la iglesia es
especialmente poderoso. Una excelente manera de hacer esto es acudir a la Adoración del
