Your child, grades K-5, will love the activities in our well-supervised after-school program, J University. Safe transportation from school to the JCC is provided. Our low staff-to-child ratios and on-site enrichment classes make us the best choice for after-school care.

Once on campus, your child has time to work in the supervised homework center. We provide the children with a daily snack to keep everyone’s energy up for the afternoon.

Your child becomes our family at the JCC’s after-school program. JU students never want to leave us, just ask one of our parents!

Transportation is provided from the following local elementary schools: Bay Meadows, Dr. Phillips, Metrowest, Palm Lake, Sand Lake, Thornebrooke, Windermere and Windy Ridge. Other schools are accepted for drop-offs. A new school pickup can be added with a minimum of 3 students enrolled, depending on transportation availability.

Saturday Night OutEnjoy a night out on the town…and your kids enjoy a night out at the J! One Saturday night a month, the JCC makes it easy for you to enjoy an evening off, while we take great care of your children! This program is available for children 18 mos. to 12 yrs and runs from 5-11pm. Your child will enjoy a pizza dinner and snacks, followed by fun themed activities. Every Saturday Night Out ends with a movie, where the kids love to bring in a sleeping bag, pillow, and pajamas to end their night before pickup.

HOOPSTARS BASKETBALL ACADEMY

Youth Basketball League

Our instructional basketball league for boys and girls ages 5-14 teaches children the skills necessary for success both on the court and off, in a fun and supportive environment! Hoopstars players work with coaches to learn the fundamentals of basketball, as well as teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship. Players are placed in a division based on age and skill level. Practices take place on Monday or Tuesday nights (depending on division), and games are held Sunday afternoons. The Hoopstars program includes: quality instruction, skill development, games with age-appropriate basket heights, coaches, jerseys, referees and awards.

Basketball Birthday Parties Does your child love basketball? Then plan his or her next birthday party with the Hoopstars coaches at the JCC! We’ll take care of running a fun and active birthday party for your children and their friends, including 90 minutes of basketball games and contests, and lots of attention for the special birthday boy or girl! This package also includes use of a JCC party room for 30 minutes for food/cake. Customer supplies all food, including cake, drinks and paper goods. Two-hour party for up to 16 children; $10 for each additional child above 16.

JU Star Scholars Tutoring Come join J University’s after-school tutoring program where students are provided with one-on-one assistance in any subject area desired. Tutors will assist with extra homework help time, test preparation, and general reviews of the student’s school course material. Standardized test tutoring can be provided upon request. The JCC tutors will work with the child’s specific needs to help them reach their goals! Grades K-8

Theatre South Presents: SPELLBOUND, a musical journey through “Matilda,” “Mary Poppins” and “Pippin” Join our famous Youth Musical Production class as we pay tribute to three award-winning Broadway musicals. Taught by professional musical theater performers, this performance class will audition, rehearse and perform a full musical production. The class will split up into two groups, with the younger cast members (K-2) taking part in Spellbound Jr., and the older cast (Grades 3-8) rehearsing in a more intensive environment. Grades K-8.

This is a double session class and ends with two performances on March 7, 2015. Additional rehearsals on Friday, February 27, Thursday, March 5, Friday, March 6, and all day Saturday, March 7.

Learn to command an audience and feel more comfortable with public speaking. This class will focus on working together as a cast and will conclude with a performance of a play on the last day. College Prep WorkshopsFacilitated by Jayshree Radhakrishnan who has worked with hundreds of college students as an advisor and career counselor at Ohio State University and University of California at Los Angeles. She holds master’s degrees in communication and psychology, and a Ph.D. in communication. She has presented papers on student advising at national and regional conferences and currently advises college applicants on the college admissions process and career choices.
