This compilation of press-clips resulted as a by-product of the systematically research for jazz advertise-
ments and photographs in the above mentioned negro-press papers. Therefore often these clips in
neighbourhood of an advertisement are not complete or of bad or rather light copied quality when a clip
was in neighbourhood of rather dark exposed photographs on the often poor copied micro-film-reels.
There was a special research for reviews of the blues & jazz shows in the 1920s and early `30s particularly when they included line-ups of the jazz-bands. Several other reviews (often not specially researched) were separated on compiled working book pages of following performers: Luis Russell / Baron Lee (Ferguson) & Edgar Hayes & Lucky Millinder / Floyd Campbell / Jabbo Smith / Count Basie & Buck Clayton / Roy Eldridge / Duke Ellington & Cootie Williams / Andy Kirk + Mary Lou Williams / Hazel Scott / Billie Holiday / Adelaide Hall / Jimmy Lunceford / Dizzy Gillespie / Jazz Films / Eddie Condon / All Girl Bands / (in 2011 also available on pdf-files as far as not already used by other book-writers) then there exists especially researched HENRY”RED”ALLEN – A BIO-DISCO COMPILATION of engagement dates and all stuff (photos, advertisements, previews, reviews, record reviews, notes out of the above negro presspapers and nearly all periodicals and jazz magazins.
