Starting from Manama, Bahrain and ending in Muscat, Oman, the route will traverse the Arabian Peninsula with Six Senses Zighy Bay as the first stop entering Oman. Touring through four nations and seven marinas Sailing Arabia the Tour sails over 1,408 kilometres in only 14 days, modeled after the internationally renowned Tour de France à la Voile, one of the world’s most famous offshore sailing events. In early 2011 Oman Sail established a regional alternative, Sailing Arabia – The Tour, the first international sailing regatta that joined together the nations of the Gulf to race competitively around the region. On 23 February, 2012 the fourth leg of 2012 Sailing Arabia (SATT) will finish in Zighy Marina. The fifth leg will depart on 25 February, 2012 from Musandam, Oman and to Musannah, Oman. A full day of in port activities for the media is organized on Friday, 24 February 2012, culminating with a family-style barbecue event on the beach. Sailing Arabia the Tour 2012 Returns

A special seven-course set menu created by ExecutiveChef Steven Wilson highlights offerings picked from theresort’s Organic Garden, such as beetroot carpaccio, roastblack angus with smoked aubergine or zighy fig marmaladedressing atop a telagio sandwich. This culinary experienceis priced at fifty Omani rial per person, plus 9 % tax and8.4 % service charge.

Out With the Old: Introducing Summer House’s New Menu

As part of the ongoing transformation of culinary experiences, ExecutiveChef Steven Wilson has launched a new menu at Summer House, our al-fresco bistro restaurant and terrace. While guests overlook the wadi,modern-yet-simple food, such as roasted Cod with spiced Beluga lentils,Bourguignon style Wagyu beef cheek or Tatin of cherry vine tomato withblack olives and confit garlic waft in the air.

Shua Shack: Family-style Bedouin Dining

Every week our specialty Arabic culinary team roast a blend of localherbs and spices, dry-rubbing this shua-blend onto lamb shanks thatare then wrapped in banana leaves and hessian-cloth to marinate for24-hours. This lamb will be slowly roasted for four hours roasted inour traditional Omani-style subterranean “shua” oven.

As the lamb roasts, guests enjoy a communal dining experience withlow seating directly on the beach. Fresh salads with hot and coldmezzes are served family-style as light sounds of Arabian flutes andoud.

For the main course, the lamb is revealed; lifted from the undergroundoven, carved and served over basmati rice. The evening finishes withOmani coffee and the waves at your feet. Offered each Monday, ShuaShack is priced at thirty-five Omani rial per person, plus 9 % tax and8.4 % service charge.

With easy access to the beach, volleyball, pétanque and tennis courts,and Jungle Gym, our teenage club, al Feetean's Club is a great place tomake new friends and get away from the family. Al Feetean's Club isopen to guests aged 12 – 18 years.

A newly crafted activity schedule encourages communal activities thattake in the fresh air and natural elements found in the area. Adventure Team Building : Corporate Team Building Challenges

Adventure challenges are set in an environment that encourages team work,individual growth and improves on the dynamics of the involved group. Wadi Wurrayah Canyoning

Oman and the UAE are well known for adventure-seekers.“Canyoning” refers to the progressive travel through canyons thatcan include trekking, abseiling, swimming, walking and jumping.

Starting at the UAE’s only perennial waterfall trek into the wadi,passing many pools and marveling at the sky-rocketing natural rockformations. Further along the trek we encounter many smallwaterfalls and pools large enough for an invigorating swim in the clearspring water. Explore a large cave before stopping at the picturesquespot for picnic refreshments and relaxing company before returningto the resort after a half day of adventure.
