Celebrate Children‘s Day by putting up carp streamers.

There is a myth about carp goes through the gate of dragon, it can be a dragon. People have likened the children on this carp.

Families who have boys decorate the helmet.

This is a helmet made from origami paper.

I made helmets and small carp by Origami paper to decorate for Children's Day!

Food

This is chimaki. It is a sweet rice cake wrapped in bamboo leaf. It has a good omen to eat.

This is kashiwa-mochi. It is the sweet rice cake which is wrapped in oak leaf.

Sweet rice cake contains pasted beans inside.

Chimaki is usually eaten in eastern Japan.Kashiwa-mochi is usually eaten in western Japan.
