Day 23

Complete the GPaS activities in your books- the answers are on the next slide.

After being imprisoned on the island, Daedalus and Icarus devise an ingenious method of escape.

Gather some ideas as to what Icarus and Daedalus have been doing to pass the time on the island. In the frame of reference record any useful adjectives or verbs to show what they have been doing.

What might Icarus and Daedalus have been doing?

What descriptive words and phrases could you use?

Making sand angelsfun, silly,

pointless, annoying.

Write a diary entry as either Daedalus or Icarus. What have you been doing? Are you getting on with the other person? Perhaps Icarus hasn’t been doing great listening! Consider the character’s thoughts and feelings and how they react to events/characters.

Success Criteria:

• Use the first person.• Use adjectives to describe thoughts and feelings.• Use conjunctions to link ideas.

• Challenge

How many of the four sentence types can you include? (question, exclamation, command, statement)- this is a good opportunity for rhetorical questions.

Explain where you would fly to if you had wings!
