Attempt to Save Mohan Mohan, of age 13 came to Cornerstone Children Home, DKSHA with bone marrow cancer. None of us knew about this until the Hb test revealed this. After a Year long effort, we found CMC Hospital, Vellore is the only one which can give treatment. We tried our best taking this child for 2 full long years. His mother was ready to be the partial stem cell donor. Sufficient money needed were raised by DKSHA but Transplant could not be done. The doctors reason that “ there are antibodies present in Mohan’s body which will not accept but will reject the stem cell from his mother. This is not a good as the rejection will become a big danger to the life of the child. So regular blood transfusion and medication will keep him living . The staff and children at DKSHA express our deep appreciat ion and indebtedness to Miracle Foundation, EFG School-Germany, Elena and Friends -Spain and Friends in the Netherlands.$

Anu Priya hails from a village namely Vellakkal, situated 9 kilometres from CORNERSTONE HOME, DKSHA Mullippadi Village. She was born on 22nd March 1999 for her Parents Mr. Paramasivam ( a ) Siva and for Mrs. Rajeshwari as the second child. Anupriya has two Brothers namely Ajth Kumar (elder to her) and Pavithran (younger). The Parents due to unemployment and improper place to live in the native village migrated to Dindigul another Civil District (Town) where Anbarasi Home is Located as a migrants. Father worked as a daily wage labour in a private wine shop and Mother was a House Wife. !Anu Priya hardly received any love and affection from her Mother and therefore She was very close to her Father. Mother of this Anu Priya started to live a loose life, persecuted the Father in many ways suspecting his behavior and her Father also did the same. As a result both the parents were quarrelling and fighting almost every day. These events resulted in Anu Priya’s mother becoming mentally ill since 2007 and her Father helped the Mother with treatment and regularly gave medicines as well. Anu Priya’s Father having understood the usefulness of Education

helped all 3 children visit English Medium School. Anu Priya joined a school namely Rotary School studied well…Suddenly Father Died in 2010 infected with HIV/AIDS. All three children including Anu Priya discontinued Schooling. Being mentally ill, the mother soon after the death of the Father wandered and started living on the streets going here and there. !Older Brother left the house and went on his own to find a job to live on his own. Anu Priya and her younger Brother Pavithran, returned to the Grand Mother’s Village. As drop outs both were roaming around visiting the relatives as they both have to depend upon them for their daily bread. As their life moved on, wandering young boys in the village started to tease her and disturb her for having love affair. She was unhappy in these circumstance and she met one of her uncles namely Mr. Rajendran..and pleaded him to help her receive education again. !Feeling pity for this girl, Mr. Rajendran, who heard about DKSHA & CORNERSTONE HOME met Mr. Isaac. Moved by her condition DKSHA, admitted her straight away from class 5 to Class 8 as she was eligible to receive education under the Government of India Act Right To Education (RTE). She was in DKSHA’s the then Government Project namely Special Residential Training Centre (RSTC) for one year and then with the help of the SSA –SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN (meaning in English Education to All) that issued a Transfer Certificate to enroll Anupriya in the regular School to start studying from class 9…this child was so happy and successfully completed SSLC – Secondary School Leaving Certificate i.e. class 10 from Government High School , Village Malaiyadipatti. At Present She is studying in class 11 at Little Flower Girls Higher Secondary School in the local Town Manapparai, 9 kilometres away from Cornerstone Home. !DKSHA Cornerstone Home also made efforts to find her younger brother. He dropped schooling after class 5 suffering for good food that made him beg for food walking in his village from one house to another, felt so sad and admitted him in class 8 directly as we did for Anu Priya. He is living in Cornerstone Home since the last two years and now studying in class 9 at Government High School, Village Malaiyadipatti. !Anu Priya’s Mother who has been living on the road and on the streets roaming around to many towns and villages since 2007 till 2014 appeared one day at the office of DKSHA. Looking at the pitiable condition of the mother, DKSHA Management with the hard efforts of Isaac Arulappan, the Chief Functionary of DKSHA and CORNERSTONE HOME, managed to admit Anu Priya’s Mother in a Hospital for mentally ill at Trichirappalli City and got treatment for 12 long months which includes 4 months of residential facility in a Home for mentally ill people that is managed by a not for profit Organization namely SHANTHIVANAM located in a village Enamkulathur” on the way to Tiruchirappalli. !Now, Anu Priya and her younger Brother are enjoying happy and content life here in Cornerstone and they feel so good for getting better education with the help from the Miracle Foundation that has been helping these children making a huge difference in their life with the help of DKSHA Cornerstone Home at Village Mullippadi in India.
