The Epiphany of the Lord

“Sir, we would like to see Jesus?”

Dear Parishioners and all who worship with us!

Today is EPIPHANY – the showing of Jesus, the recognizing of Jesus by the Magi. It is this Sunday’s Chapter of

our Christmas Season. When I want to be sure I am looking for Jesus and finding Him in my life I go to 2 places:

1. Communion – This is Jesus, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin…

…. I am NOT WORTHY…. Say the word and MY SOUL SHALL BE HEALED!

2. Matthew’s Gospel [Chapter 25: v 31-46 page 1054 New American Bible.]:

“The king will say to those on his right, “Come, you blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.”

So if I do the caring, I am meeting Jesus in the person I help!

Our Consecrated Religious Sisters, Brothers and Priests, those who live dedicated lives in formal [Solemn] vows to follow Jesus show us how to follow Jesus in our lives. Not only for those who join them, but also in family life we can serve the needs of neighbors, community and the world by doing the caring needed by the people on our daily path. This may begin as Charity and kindness, but leads to empowerment, sharing and justice.

Freedom, caring, speaking for, empowering, to utilize:

Because of our vows of chastity poverty, and obedience, consecrated religious have the freedom to work with others in caring for those on the margins of society, speaking on their behalf, yet at the same time, empowering them to recognize and utilize their God-given gifts and talents.

–Sr. Sister Rosemary Finnegan, O.P, 2014 Diocese of Orlando interview

So I will try to not pack away charity and kindness with the Christmas decorations, Christmas leads to the Baptism of Jesus. The life of baptism that we share with Jesus, we are dedicated to the work of God, the work of caring and kindness. May I see Jesus, our Lord and Savior in those I help on my daily journey!

A Blessed New Year! Fr. Dave

Guardian Angels Regional School

Catholic Schools Week - Open House Monday, January 26th

9:00am or 6:30pm

Are you satisfied with your child’s class size and personal attention they receive in school?

Does your child’s school principal know each child in the school by name?

Is your child prepared for the High School Placement Test for the local Catholic High Schools?

If you answered “No” to one or more of these questions then a visit to Guardian Angels Regional School should be in your plans for the New Year. Guardian Angels Regional School offers small classes with a 1 to 10 teacher/aide to student ratio. Our principal knows the names of her students not because they have been to the principal’s office but because she visits their classrooms, greets them at the door in the morning and enjoys visiting with each of them on their birthdays. Guardian Angels Regional School students are more than prepared to take the HSPT and their scores reinforce what we already know…a Guardian Angels education sets them apart, helps them achieve their goals and for many of them a substantial scholarship for the Catholic High School of their choice.

We offer students a loving, faith-filled environment to grow and learn in during the most formative years of their life, thereby encouraging them to live the Gospel values as they continue through school as young Disciples of Christ.

Happy New Year! The Guardian Angels Regional School community

would like to wish you and your family a very

Happy New Year.

School events and news, please visit us on the web at

Stewards offer Their Treasures “They prostrated themselves and did him homage.

Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold,

frankincense, and myrrh.” – MATTHEW 2:11B

Notice the order of events in the Magi’s visit. First, as good Stewards, they knelt before Jesus, and prayed to Him. Then they presented Him with their gifts. We, too, must take time to pray before we present our gifts to the Lord. We never know what God may be asking us to share!
