Due Dates: All MERs and Supportive Service Requests are due on the 1st of the

month and no later than the 10th. MER’s received after the 10th are considered late and could result in a late

cash aid payment. “lost in the mail” or “late due to mail” will not be an acceptable excuse.

MER’s WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BEFORE THE 1ST DAY OF THE MONTH,

NO EXCEPTIONS. Reminder:

If you have any questions in regards to your case such as, allowable work participation hours, updating your Responsibility Service Plan, Supportive Service Requests please contact your Case Manager. Any questions you may have in regards to employment services or schooling, such as resume writing, job search, registering for classes, applying for financial aid, etc. please contact our Career Development Coordinator. By you contacting the person that can answer your questions, it will help you in reaching the answers to your questions in a timely manner.

Please know that in order for you to request documents from your case file, you will need to fill out and submit a “Client Request for File Copies” form to your case manager. There is up to a 48 hour timeline for your Case Manger to fulfill your request with the documents you are requesting, such as a Benefit Summary or any other documents from your file.

Receipts must be provided to your TANF Case Manager within ten (10) days of the client receiving any type of assistance, incentive, or gift cards in your name. The receipts verify the funds you received were used to purchase items intended for. Failure to provide appropriate receipts will result in the allowance being deducted from the next month’s TANF grant. When submitting receipts please make sure you write the name of the person (adult or child’s name) who received the assistance. If the total amount of the assistance that was received is not accountable in the receipt, the balance due will be deducted from your cash assistance.

Goal Setting: When making decision about what to focus your time on, you should always be cognizant of your goals and how each action is aimed at bringing you closer to achieving those goals.

Prioritization: Prioritization is one of the most misunderstood and misused of the time management skills. When you get it right, you will find that your time management improves rapidly.

Self-awareness: It is worth taking a little time for self-reflection, on a regular basis, to observe how you get the best from yourself. Any time you perform to a very high standard, take a little time to identify what was specific about the situation that allowed you to perform to such a high standard.

Self-motivation: Whatever it is that you are trying to do with your life, it is YOU who will benefit from it. If you don’t have the motivation; nobody else is going to give it to you. And if you can’t get yourself motivated for school/job; you need to ask whether you should be doing that job.

Focus: It is important to remember that no matter how many tasks need to be done, you can only work one task in any given moment. You must learn to focus on one task at a time and block out distractions

Decision making: Decision making is one of those time management skills which if you are not good at it, you will notice the negative impacts in every area of your life. It is imperative that you are able to consider the consequences and make effective, clear decisions.

Planning: Planning is one of the essential time management skills because it allows you to foresee all the tasks which will be required to complete a project and, how they will best fit together. A well-made plan will save you a great deal of time.

Communication skills: You will have to work with others on a daily basis. It is unlikely that you will perform every aspect of your work so you will need to enlist the help of others. Strong communication skills will enable you to build supportive relationships with those whom you work with. You will be able to work better together and achieve more that you ever could part.

Questioning and challenging: asking a few questions upfront will allow you to avoid a lot od hardship further down the line. Taking the time to achieve clarity at the beginning will save you far more time in the long-run.

Delegation/outsourcing: There is a big difference between being responsible for getting something done and; being one who must do it. When you realize this, you can save a great deal of time by availing the help that others can offer you.

Coping skills: Coping skills are essential management skills

because as the cliché goes “the show must go on.” If you let setbacks stops you; you will never get anything done.

Stress management: Time management skills and stress

management skills are intertwined. They also have one major thing in common-they allow you to understand that it is better to prevent the problem occurring than having to deal with it once it does occur. If you want to improve your time management skills, make proactive stress management a ritual in your life.

Working effectively with other: Working effectively with others is one of the most delicate and subtle time management skills because it requires you to identify the subtle differences and try to find a way to ensure that everybody’s needs are met in so far as possible while most importantly, ensuring that the objectives of the team are met.

Record keeping: Keeping records in a major pain in the backside but if you learn to discipline yourself and keep accurate records, it will save you a great deal of time in the future.

Organization: When you have proper organization system, you capture every commitment so, when you are deciding what to do next, you choose from a full list of the commitments you have made and stick with them.

Patience: Patience isn’t just a virtue; it is a skill. It is something which you have to practice daily. The very best patience individual’s do not rush into things. They have patience and take precisely the amount of time required to do the job properly.

Forgiveness: Forgiveness is not just one of the most important time management skills; it is a gift which you give yourself by freeing up to focus on more important matters; rather than wasting your time and energy on old grudges.

If you want to get the best result possible from your life; time management skills are essential part of our everyday life. As you improve your time management skills, you will find that you get more valuable work completed in less time. It is not about increasing the quantity of work that you complete. It is all about ensuring that you complete your most important tasks which will enable you to achieve your goals quicker and with less stress. There are many different time management skills and the list above is by no means exhaustive. If you take one-time management skill at a time and work to improve it, you will find that it has a knock effect on your entire performance.

17 ESSENTIAL TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS

17-time management skills which play a critical role determining your productivity levels. Some of these time management skills overlap and, in many cases, mastering one skill will greatly improve your performance in another. However, it is important that you understand each skill and the role it plays in your time management.
