Expansion Update7First off we want to say ‘Thank You’ to everyone

that stepped in and donated or pledged to allow PCS to Maximize the Match! We are honored and grateful to the hundreds of families, individuals and businesses that said, yes to the Forward in Faith expansion effort. Our goals remain strong with main components being a new education wing, competitive gym, auditorium, and renovations to our current facility. To accomplish this goal, while remaining budget focused, a variety of task forces will continue to serve faithfully over the next couple of months. This is a very high level snap shot of the work that is going on in December and January. Stay tuned for more updates! The Design Team is sending out a Request for Proposal to finalize the master campus plan. The selected firm will work with the Design Team over the next few months to help identify the best way to phase the construction to meet our needs.

THE PCS IMPACTStory of Impact

“Our daughter, Julia, was baptized as a new believer and follower of Christ. When we made plans for her baptism, she asked to invite some of her buddies to come and watch, as well as her teachers. I sent out a little invitation to her teachers with a little note saying how we so appreciate the spiritual investment they have made in Julia‘s life. Her two former teachers and her current teacher came! They of course, were not on the clock. They were not in official capacity. They were there as women who themselves love Jesus, and in turn, were rejoicing with Julia for this life changing decision she has made. As if we weren‘t all ready convinced that Park Christian School truly is all they claim to be.....today would have convinced us. And the impact it made on those in attendance was also profound. Julia Fisher knows she is loved by these three ladies and we are so thankful.Thank you for truly being part of our village. We were so blessed to have had Mrs. Ryding, Mrs. Grinder, and Mrs. Allen with our family on this special day.”John and Abby Fisher

We Maximized the Match...What’s Next? The Finance Team will be reviewing the enrollment model and making revisions based on current trends.

The Capital Campaign team will continue to meet with potential donors and raise money for the project. We are Half Way to our $10 million goal! The Prayer Team will continue to pray for God to continue to bless us with the generosity of those who believe and invest in

the mission of PCS.The Communication Team

will work closely with all teams to share their work and progress

with the PCS family. If you would like to be involved in any part of this exciting work, or have questions, please reach out to our expansion committee chair, Jason Loney at [email protected] or 701-371-1672.

By raising $1.5M by 12/1/16, Scheels matched this with a $3M gift to PCS. As a result of the match, we are at $5.2M toward the goal of raising $10M for the expansion project. We gathered together to celebrate all that the Lord has done for Park Christian through the Maximize the Match school expansion campaign in an all school Praise and Worship Chapel on Monday, December 5th. We will highlight just a few of the individual gifts given that totaled $1,671,655, 14:

• Two Park Christian sisters (4th grader Kaycee Endreson and kindergartner Tenley) worked in their parent’s pumpkin patch this spring. They donated $250 of their earnings.

• A PCS teacher felt blessed by the Lord and prompted by His Spirit to give $1000 for the Scheels match.

• A couple out of Detroit Lakes with no connection to Park sold some land and wanted to give a portion back to God. They had friends connected to the school and heard about our expansion effort. They wrote a check for $20,000 and sent it in. When we called them, the wife said she believes the world needs more schools like Park Christian where kids can learn both academically and spiritually.

• A PCS parent dropped off a check in the amount of $2,710.64. When we inquired about the “64 cents” she joyfully told us the check was from a semi full of corn!

• An alumni parent called and said that they love and pray for the school often. She grew tearful, saying, “Kids need Park. They need Christian education. What would happen if the school closed?”

• Two different couples donated $50,000 each; one in honor of Mrs. Leedahl and the other in honor of Miss Hoven. Classrooms will be dedicated to these two faithful women.

Many of the gifts were $1,000 or less. We praise Jesus for every gift, every size, and every person. Philippians 4 says it’s all from Him and for Him – God meets all our needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ! *See page 7 for an Expansion Update and stay tuned to see the next steps in reaching our future goals.
