Howdy from the Golf Association.

New Officers were elected during our last meeting of the year. David Doshier – President , Dean Logan – Vice President , Marianne Doshier - Secretary , Sherrian Moore – Treasurer and Harold Bradford - Tournament Director . Also at the meeting we voted to continue giving Jeff Baker and his maintence crew their usual year-end bonuses. They continue doing a great job with the golf course. We also had a visit from Shelly Lindley; she is in charge of the Pharmacy at the new Wal-Mart at 34th and Osage. They are going to donate 10 cases of water for every Golf Tournament we have this year ! Neato. Our next meeting is scheduled for March 9th. We will set the the tournament schedule up and talk about what improvements we can do to the golf course.

We are also planning a Valentines party on Saturday, Feb 14th, more information on this event coming soon. By the time this letter hits the newsstands, we should have a new tree behind #13 green. This will give you a target to hit to when you can’t see the green from the fairway. If anybody has any questions or concerns, please give me or David a call. David – 683-4494 or Dean 670-7745.

Thanks, Dean Logan “Vice President”

FICTION HOPE TO DIE, by James Patterson. Detective Alex Cross is being stalked by a psychotic genius, forced to play the deadliest game of his career. With his family ripped away from him by a madman, what is he willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves? 22nd in the Alex Cross series. BURIAL RITES, by Hannah Kent. In 1829 Iceland, a young servant woman, Agnes Magnusdottir, is accused of murdering her former master and is sent to an isolated farm to await execution. Based on the true story of Iceland's last execution, in a small valley covered in hundreds of small hills. This book is my top pick in new fiction. DAYS OF RAGE, by Brad Taylor. The Task force is used to being the hunter, but this time they’re the hunted. Intent on embroiling the US in a quagmire that will sap its economy and drain its legitimacy, Russia passes a potential weapon of mass destruction to Boco Haram, an extreme Islamic sect in Nigeria. A relic of the Cold War, the Russian FSB believes the weapon has deteriorated and is no longer effective, but they are wrong. Boco Haram has the means for mass destruction, which will be set loose upon a multitude of unsuspecting innocents on one of the world’s grandest stages. DEATH OF A DOG WHISPERER, by Laurien Berenson. Its summer in Connecticut and Melanie's life has become an endless string of dog shows, soccer camp, and the antics of her energetic toddler. She hardly has time to pay much attention to her Aunt Peg's new protégé, Nick Walden, a self-proclaimed "dog whisperer" with an uncanny gift for decoding dog-speak. The well-heeled dog owners of Fairfield County are lapping up his alleged talents, anxious to discover exactly what their pampered pets are thinking--that is until the pooches start spilling their secrets. BIG LITTLE LIES, Liane Moriarty. The annual school Trivia Night has ended in a shocking riot, with one parent dead. As police investigate, it begins to look like the death is not a tragic accident, but murder. What really goes on behind closed suburban doors – domestic violence and bulling in a whole new light. ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE, by Anthony Doerr. Marie, age 12, and her father flee occupied Paris for her great-uncle's house in Saint-Malo. Meanwhile, in a German mining town, the orphan Werner, an expert at building and fixing radios, goes on special assignment to track the Resistance. Eventually, the stories of these two converge.

case, which will force him to hunt down the most formidable, brilliant prey he has ever tracked: his own brother. Third in the series. YOUNG ADULT MICHAEL VEY, THE PRISONER OF CELL 25, by Richard Paul Evans. Michael Vey is an adventure story about hope, loyalty, courage and love for his mother. With strong, likeable characters, genuinely realistic and frightening villains and "high energy" tension. (Book 1) MICHAEL VEY, RISE OF THE ELGEN, by Richard Paul Evans. Michael was born with special electrical powers—and he's not the only one. His friend Taylor has them too, and so do other kids around the world. With Michael's friend Ostin, a techno-genius, they form the Electroclan, an alliance meant to protect them from a powerful group, the growing Order of Elgen, who are out to destroy them. The leader of the Elgen, Dr. Hatch, has kidnapped Michael's mother, and time is running out. (Book 2) MICHAEL VEY, BATTLE OF THE AMPERE, by Richard Paul Evans. Michael and his friends must continue to fight the Elgen and try to disrupt their plans to rule the world. (Book 3) LAUGHING AT MY NIGHTMARE, by Shane Burcaw. Burcaw is like any other 21-year-old guy. He loves sports, video games, and bathroom humor; enjoys hanging out with his friends; and has had several girlfriends. The only thing that makes him different is that he has done all of this while in a wheelchair. Burcaw was born with a rare neuromuscular disease known as spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), which hinders his muscles' ability to grow and repair themselves. As a result of the disease, Burcaw depends on his friends and family when it comes to completing everyday tasks. Throughout, he shares many humorous and touching stories about growing up and living with his disease. PRIMARY THE THREE NINJA PIGS, by Corey Rosen Schwartz. Why does this wolf think he can come to town and blow all the houses down? These three little pigs just aren't going to take it from that bully anymore! The first starts aikido lessons---he'll make mincemeat out of that wolf! His brother learns a little jujitsu--he'll chop that guy to pieces! But when the wolf actually appears, it turns out these two pigs aren't quite ready after all. Good thing their sister has been training every day to master some serious karate moves that save the day. KIYA! FROZEN, by Disney. Special collection junior novelization of Frozen. FROZEN, by Disney. Read-Along story book and cd.

“serving our community”

Happy New Year.

We have placed $23,000 worth of crappie, large-mouth bass, and channel catfish (31,000 fish). The best we can tell, the stocked fish are surviving and growing. Good news! Our stocked bass and channel catfish are being caught around the lake. Fishing for catfish (catch & release) has been good. We have been catching 12” – 17” fish. The biggest one was 17”, 1.3 lbs. Our stocked fish are growing and will be spawning soon, hopefully. We have one more delivery of crappie due next month. Please do not keep any bass or catfish as we want them to mature enough to reproduce. Special thanks to everyone who donated to the fish project 2 yrs. ago. We would also like to thank the Corp for their donation this month of $1500. Our fish project has been a success. We are currently collecting checks for our US & Texas flag service. Please ASAP send in your check or drop it by the LT Office for flags. A flag form was included in an email that was sent to you by the LT Office regarding the car/vehicle/boat sticker for 2015. Another flag form is included in this January newsletter. Our next fundraiser will be our Chili Supper on Sunday February 22. Once we raise more money, we plan improvements on the children’s park. Dear Lake Tanglewood Members,

I would like your vote! I am running for one of the open positions on the LSIOT/Lake Tanglewood Board of Directors. Pam and I have enjoyed our past 8 ½ years at the lake. I previously served as President of the LSIOT Board of Directors as well as serving on numerous Board Committees. I am very active member of the Southwest AMBUCS and the Amarillo Executive Association.

It would be my pleasure to serve the Lake Tanglewood Community again.
