Thank You—Thank You

We would like to ex-
tend a special thank
you to Debbie Lemon
and Ann Medley! Deb-
bie opened her home to
us for our Holiday Auc-
tion and Ann hosted
our Holiday Celebra-
tion. Everyone who at-
tended had a wonder-
ful time! Both homes
were absolutely beauti-
ful and looked as
though they would ap-
pear on the pages of
a magazine– something
on the lines of South-
ern Living! Simply
beautiful! D e b b i e
and Ann– to say that
we appreciate your
gracious hospitality is
an understatement!
We had a grand time!
Many thanks to each
of you!
Hello Everyone! I hope
your New Year is getting
off to a great start! I
look forward to seeing
each of you at the Janu-

pm. It will be held at the
Purple Onion and they will
be offering their regular
menu. We will have a
wonderful ceremony for
our officers and new
members. Feel free to
bring your favorite wine
to have with your meal!
I want to thank each and
everyone of you for all
the time and effort you
have contributed to our
Club and community. We
have had a successful
year and that is because
you have been there to
bring it together. Thank
you for allowing me to
serve as your President
and I look forward to the
time we will spend to-
gether this coming year.
Lynn is so inspiring and
will make a wonderful
President. She is so full
of ideas and ready to help
every single person that
needs to be helped! Let’s
do all we can do in the
South Brunswick Islands
Woman’s Club way to help
the upcoming leadership
continue being the light in
our community that this
group is designed to be!!
Thank you for allowing me

Since 1910, some form of Arts
Festival has been enjoyed on
the State level. In recent
years this event has been held
at Salem College in Winston –
Salem with District winners
from across the state compet-
ing in several categories. In
order to compete at the Dis-
trict and State levels entries
must first be entered at the
local level. There are numer-
ous categories (Crafts, Nee-
dlework, Photography, Sewing,
Visual Arts, Literature, Drama,
and Public Speaking) available
for Club women to compete.
The Arts Festival is a wonder-
ful opportunity for local Stu-
dents and Club women to show-
case their talents! The Shal-
lotte Juniors sponsor our local
Student Arts Festival. The
Local Arts Festival for our Club
members will be held at our
January 26th Club Meeting.
Club members interested in par-
ticipating, should contact Cindy
Hewett by January 20th with
specifics on the item (s) that
you would like to enter! Entries
must be displayed at the
January 26th meeting.
A separate document will be
sent to club members outlining
the categories available for Club
women to participate. Also in-
cluded will be specific guidelines
for the various categories.
Please call Cindy Hewett with
any questions you may have re-
garding the Arts Festival.

Used Holiday Cards for St. Jude’s Ranch: Don’t forget to bring your used holiday cards, birthday cards , thank you cards and greeting cards for St. Jude’s Ranch. The children at St. Jude’s participate in making new, recycled cards by removing the front and attaching a new back made with recycled paper. The new card is a beautiful “green” card made by the children and volunteers. The benefits are 2-fold: customers receive “green” holiday cards for use and the children receive payment for their work and learn the benefits and importance of “going green”. St Jude’s is a non-profit, non-sectarian home for abused, abandoned and neglected children of all races and faiths. For more information, visit their website: www.stjudesranch.org
