JANUARY - FEBRUARY 2019
JANUARY 17, 2019 LUNCHEON MEET THE MCMILLANS
David McMillan and his family are longtime friends of
Idlewild, especially because his wife, Susie Overstreet
McMillan, grew up in this fellowship! David has been
involved in music since the age of eight when his mom
and dad bought him a guitar for Christmas. Over the
years, David’s dad, a lover of country and bluegrass
music, helped him train to play in a band and later to do
home recording. As a young adult, David set up his own
recording studio. It was at
one of these recording sessions that David met Susie, a
lovely and talented young singer. They later were
happily married and raised four delightful children.
The McMillans are in full-time music ministry and have
been ministering together for over 20 years as a family
singing Gospel music. David, a former worship pastor, is
a multi-instrumentalist who loves worshipping the Lord
with instruments as well as singing with Susie and their
daughter Jessica. They love incorporating music for all
generations in their programs; including styles of
bluegrass, southern, country, and praise & worship! Their
programs feature group and solo songs, instrumentals,
favorite stories, jokes, tricks, and some audience participation.
Fun and fellowship are always present at a McMillans
production. The family is blessed to be able to travel the
country sharing the “Good News” of Jesus Christ. It is their
prayer that audiences enjoy what God has called them to
do...present the Gospel through song.

MEET THE MUNSONS
Diane and David Munson are authors of family-friendly
suspense novels based on their challenging careers in
the U.S. justice system. Their novels are inspired by
fictionalized events and themes relating to their careers
as well as inside looks at the lives of heroes. Their
thrillers weave multiple related plots, but sometimes they
do not reveal the surprising connections until the exciting
conclusions to the stories. North by Starlight is the title of
their most recent novel.
Diane Munson is an attorney of more than twenty-five years who
transitioned from her law practice and writing briefs for judges to
weaving inspiring fiction for readers. David Munson was a
Special Agent with the NCIS and with the Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA). As an undercover agent, he infiltrated
international drug smuggling organizations. David also served
on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Fellow for the Permanent
Subcommittee on Investigations where he investigated the
government’s efforts to co-opt foreign spies and other classified
military operations.
More recently, Diane flew solo in
a law practice specializing in family law. She and David
also worked together as Christian mediators and saw
that justice and forgiveness are possible no matter
what the circumstances. As they travel to research and
cloister to write, they thank the Lord for the blessings of
faith and family. A verse they hold dear is Jeremiah
29:11: “I know the plans I have for you,” declares The
Lord, “Plans to give you hope and a future.”

MEET THE BRICKELLS
Keith and Heather Brickell have been at
Idlewild Baptist Church since 2014. They
are transplants to Florida. Keith is from the
Boston area and a loyal Red Sox and
Patriots fan, while Heather is from Indiana.
Both came to know Christ at young ages
and are thankful for the miraculous ways He
has guided their lives through the Gospel.
Keith has a college degree in Business.
Today he is Vice-President of a large global-
wide company. Before that – for almost 20
years – he served in music ministry roles,
including 10 years as a church music
director in St. Petersburg before coming to
IBC. Keith is also active in his community and church. Currently, he is a member of
the Board of Trustees of the Idlewild Foundation.
Heather has a college degree in Elementary Education, but now is a stay-at-home
Mom. She enjoys teaching in the Children’s Ministry at IBC. Her special passion is to
help others – particularly moms – live for less by stretching household dollars. She
can help women find the best deals, get the most out of coupons, and where to find
the best in lifestyle and fashion.
Both Keith and Heather enjoy the IBC Worship
Choir and are also on a Praise Team. When they
were first married, the Lord gave them this verse
that has carried them through almost 19 happy
years of marriage and two wonderful sons, Drew
(13) and Brady (7): “Let those who love Your
salvation say continually, ‘The LORD be
magnified.’” Psalm 40:16

YOU KNOW YOU’RE GROWING OLDER WHEN….
1. Everything hurts and what doesn’t hurt, doesn’t work.
2. You feel like the night before, and you haven’t been anywhere.
3. Your little black book contains only names ending in M.D.
4. You decide to procrastinate but then never get around to it.
5. Your mind makes contracts your body can’t meet.
6. You look forward to a dull evening.
7. You walk with your head held high trying to get used to your bifocals.
8. You sit in a rocking chair and can’t make it go.
9. Your knees buckle and your belt won’t.
10. After painting the town red, you have to take a long rest before applying a
second coat.
11. Dialing long distance wears you out.
12. You’re startled the first time you are addressed as old timer.
13. The best part of your day is over when your alarm clock goes off.
14. You burn the midnight oil after 9pm.
15. Your back goes out more than you do.
16. The little gray haired lady you help across the street is your wife.
17. You have too much room in the house and not enough in the medicine
cabinet.
18. You sink your teeth into a steak and they stay there.
